Lightning McQueen Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Thats the way the cookie crumbles (please come home lot 26, so near yet so far lol) How was the race Jason......was you amongst them? Hows the head this am? ;D Let us know if 26 reappears, its got some work to do now!!
Guest jason Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 heads a bit fluffy, drowned me sorrows well though, miles behind again, 35 minutes behind the winner. :'( lol. its only pigeon racing, I know there are the fanciers that have to win and life or death depends on it but I have fun and just enjoy it! I'll put a post on if anymore return. Jason
pigeonpete Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 hi jason, sorry to hear olf the losses again, still stand by my support for next year, but hope you dont take this the wrong way, but must be a reason for being 35 mins behind :-/, please please dont take it the wrong way, just trying to help mate
Guest jason Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Hi pete, the reason I'm 35 minutes behind is that I only train from 20 miles 3 or 4 times per week, where as the winner this week (and a lot of others) take theres to Stafford everyday which is 60 mile. the problem is that you ask them to take yours and they say no!.......I've heard that when they get down there to stafford, its like tod clubs outing and other members are already there, but, with having a young family, I don't have the time or the resources to travel down to stafford 6 days per week.....at the end of the day they're paying for it so they deserve to win. Jason
Mike Lycett Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Jason Sorry, I disagree. If you're training 3-4 times a week from 20 miles than you're doing more than enough to be in the shake up(in terms of training)
Guest Vic Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Jason Sorry, I disagree. If you're training 3-4 times a week from 20 miles than you're doing more than enough to be in the shake up(in terms of training) Jason, 4 to 5 minutes behind maybe! As I said in a previous post. yb sickness has been your downfall. Sorry to say, but true. But keep trying mate.
Guest jason Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 I'll keep trying......lot 26 has just turned up.....thats 9 back from 9 sent, all 9 will be ready for next weeks race from Swainswick (169 mile) Jason
Lightning McQueen Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 umpf....just mine to come then, typical!! Not to worry (she just having a mini-break before a final assault on that league Well thats my dream anyhow ;D ;D
Lightning McQueen Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Cant believe it took me 20mins to write that, but DREAMS do come true..ha ha Best of luck fella........
johnny11 Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Jason Send me some droppings first thing Tuesday morning and will see if anything is a miss John
pigeonpete Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Jason Sorry, I disagree. If you're training 3-4 times a week from 20 miles than you're doing more than enough to be in the shake up(in terms of training) totally agree im afraid, the top guys in our club have stopped training ybs now and still top the fed :-/
Wiley Posted August 26, 2007 Report Posted August 26, 2007 Jason Sorry, I disagree. If you're training 3-4 times a week from 20 miles than you're doing more than enough to be in the shake up(in terms of training) have to agree also with this statement
Guest jason Posted August 27, 2007 Report Posted August 27, 2007 Well...I don't know what to say....the birds are in fine form and I just don't know why they're returning late.....Johnny I'll send you some droppings first thing in morning. As a mate of mine said on friday night.....'with running a one-loft race, returns are more important than winning the club' I don't think 9 out of 9 were too bad, just a little late anyhow 2 races to go.......Swainswick (159 mile) and Portland (219 miles). Jason
