There is one staying home, its lot 33 and I've been to collect it from Garstang today...it went missing from a 20 mile chuck on the 20th of July so it aint seen a race and I thought it unfair to 'throw it in'. The final race is from portland (219 mile) on the 8th of September so with 2 races to go good luck to all. Jason

pigeonpete Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Lots 2 and 12 have just turned up :-/ Jason nice 1 jase, how did you end up in the club?
Guest jason Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 hi pete, rather not say....but..............last......... The good news is that we've found out whats gone wrong! I'm off out for dinner now but later I'll post what the problems have been! Jason
Guest jason Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 Right onto the reason why the one-loft birds are so far behind in the club.........I'm not sure where to start ,but I've found out it was all down to the darkness system we used.......This is what we did (explained to us by a very good flyer before we started( I'm not mentioning his name)).....We darkened the loft down at 3pm every day, then as it went dark around 10.30/ 11pm we opened the curtains Before going to bed, so the birds would get the natural sunrise every morning. Now the problem........a street light 150 yards from the loft was shining straight in.....We was told (by the good flyer) that this would be ok as the birds will 'know when its dark' anyway the birds are going through the moult, some are onto 5 and 6th flights. :-/ :-/ Now, A. I feel like an idiot as I found out last night.....the good flyer who advised us, has never flown on the darkness system. > > > and B. I promise you that all the birds will be on a proper darkness system next year! Jason
jimmy white Posted September 2, 2007 Report Posted September 2, 2007 not to worry jason, at least you have tried your best,,, we all live and learn :) good luck
