Morning motivation for your loft: focus on the return, not just the release.

The way your pigeons trap tells you everything about their mindset.

A bird that hesitates to enter is a bird that’s unsure — fix this before the next race. Train them to associate trapping with comfort, reward, and security.

As Louis Van Loon used to say, “A pigeon that loves home will never lose it.” 🕊️🏠FB_IMG_1760272650892.jpg

Racing Pigeon Tips / Training Insights

Consistency is everything. Don’t rush your birds into distance races — build their confidence through repetition. A steady training route, similar weather exposure, and predictable feeding times create calm, reliable racers.

As the great Jef van Wanroy used to say: “Routine breeds results.” Keep the clock, the feed scoop, and your release points consistent — your pigeons will thank you with minutes gained, not lost. 🕊️⏱️

Feed timing is everything. The best fanciers don’t just feed their birds — they condition them.

Give morning flights on a near-empty stomach, then feed within 10 minutes after trapping. Evening feeding should be heavier, with fats and oils added midweek to build energy stores.

Louis Van Loon once said, “Feed by the clock, and your birds will fly by instinct.” Rhythm builds winners.FB_IMG_1760460741083.jpg
