Unfortunately she would not mate when I wnated her to, she is now spare but wasted,. has anyone got a decent breeding cock that I could borrow? I appreciate it is unlikely but as i said if you don't ask.........

I would lock her in one half of box paired to any old cock then let her be with the best cock in the loft for an hour a day when she lays let the any old cock in with her to sit eggs. If she does not want to pair there could be a health problem with her.
Guest Posted February 14, 2007 Report Posted February 14, 2007 Scout you are spot on she wasn't right, treated her for canker, baytrilled and vaccinated for para typhus, she's come through unscathed, may need this year to moult out. but I'm think she is now ready to mate, she is a fine breeding hen to about 450 mile best velocity 12/1300
