I Have for sale on the following site 2 direct a&c van gestel birds they are superb birds ideal breeding pair full original pedigree supplied bidding via elimar pigeons also take a look at the other birds on there there are some great birds there.

http://www.nationalflyingclub.co.uk/Auction/item.php/id=181

these birds would usually cost in excess of 550 euros each to buy direct

so 1,100 euros for the pair this is a super chance to buy these birds at a fraction of the original value.

I Think some of you only use this site for complaining nothing beter to do!

i have been paying for advertising in the past, on this site and will do again soon, i would not mind paying for my adverts on this site of if can guarantee selling the birds but i raeley sell birds on here i get questions, sometimes i have made a sale on here, on elimar pigeons you have to pay £10 per bird + a % of final sale but usually quite a few bidders

I'M not surprized you don't sell many pigeons on here at the prices you ask. I can remember when you started buying and selling on boddy and ridewood site before you had a good win with lady becky but now you have gone up market and seem more interested in making money out of pigeons Do not see your name in the windsor results as often now.

Lady Helen & Lady Becky are from my farthers stock, i have my own breeding stock which i have only just purchased past few years which will be racing this year but i also sell ybs which the money made is spent on either corn / national entries etc or further stock birds to improve my breeding section, i have spend many thousands of pounds buying these stock birds and intend to continue improving in the comming years.

the reason you dont see us in windsors results is we very rarley race in a club now as we only concentrate on the classics/nationals/internationals competing against the very best. we only use clubs as a training option as we do not train our birds much so we put them in the club for he first few weeks, like this year in old birds we have sent to the first 2 races as training for them this wee the whole team of approx 16 will go to the BICC Race. my dad who raced lady becky and lady helen rarley sells a bird may be at the end of the season he sells an off few.

I thought the NFC auction site was run for the benefit of the NFC, i.e. all monies going back to them :-/ Maybe I'm mistaken,,, Andrew who gets your £10 + % fee's then?

the NFC Site has 2 sections NFC Funds and Independant auctions nfc funds goes all to nfc the independant goes to seller but £10 goes to the nfc and also the % goes to the nfc towards running costs i believe.

Seems theres not much point posting on this site any more as you just get those same fanciers always complaining suppose they have nothing better to do with their time.

I resent your implication that I'm moaning all the time as it untrue I do my best to help anyone and only asked a perfectly civil question as you don't appeat to havebeen flying a long time compared the other fanciers on this forum who use it to help. Not just sell overpriced pigeons for their own benifit

Selling Pigeons on Pigeon Basics

I Suggest the following as there are a certain few members always complaining about people selling birds on a section of a forum which is for selling birds

All adverts placed on pigeon basics are charged £5 per advert i dont mind paying that per advert,

lets see a propper selling section created then there can be no complaints but i suppose the same old people will find somting else to complain and moan about usually the introduction of ETS or Ammount of birds people send

Andrew charging will suit those with money, perhaps like yourself and lessen the competition, those who sell an occasional bird would be put off selling, which perhaps would suit you. The site provides an excellent facility which you have been more than happy to use, share it in goodwill not as a monopoly.

As a good salesman you should never ridicule your potential customers, especially when the majority would appear to be critiscising you.Perhaps a rethink of your strategy would make you more successful, rather than trying to knock out the ordinary fancier. If I was the webmaster I certainly wouldn't be happy about you comparing this site with elimar which would appear to be run as a commercial enterprise where as this site is run purely for pigeon fanciers without commercial gain.

THE PRICES THAT YOU CHARGE IS ABSOULTELY SILLY , HOW DOES A BEGINNER OR YOUNG NOVICE AFFORD THEM PRICES.

My Prices have not been too high, i have sold birds on here and in the bhw racing from £15 though to £250 which is max price even donating many birds to fed actions/ charity auctions etc last year we gave away aprox 25 ybs to new starters, fed sales etc.

may be when i am paying many hundred pounds for birds i dont think i should be sellig young birds at low prices. like many fanciers i have to cover the costs of the birds i have purchased, as i am a student.

and have given birds to young fanciers i know for example the webmaster, gez last year of which have won prizes in gez case 2nd federation as young bird.

No Further replies will be made by myself as i have wasted enough time on the fanciers which are preventing the sport from moving forward. who have to complain about everything form ETS, Costs, Selling Pigeons etc

Andrew

I dont think so many people have a problem with people selling birds as it provides a good read and helps people find out about new families and the most successful strains. For me the problem they have is that you mention how good other websites are when many including myself beleive pigeonbasics is by far the best.

Everybody

In my opinion the more adverts that are placed on pigeon basics the better, people have more to read esp when pictures are included, i use it myself to show people what we have and start to introduce new names etc, ofcourse i have also used it to advertise pigeons i want to sell.

To some people pigeon seller are only in it for the money but believe me, to that man who takes that Koopman cock out of its amtrak box next week i will be his best mate, he will call and say ive been looking for something this good for ages and thats called a service!

I believe in the site, and we will advertising on it within the week and when cheques have arrived and banked i will try to donate on a regular basis. I must admit i almost applied to be a member of the team today but remembered how bad my spelling was and how little spare time i have, maybe in the future.

I think we should all do what we can to keep pigeon basics a happy place and without tension, if people have pigeons to sell read the adverts and if the type and price isnt to your liking let it go.

In defence of Andrew the pigeons that he is selling are very expensive for English fanciers to buy so i believe he has offered them at a price to recover his money.

This is a great place! Lets keep it that way.

Regards

Stuart Wilcox

it all depends how deep your pockets are.to some £250 is nothing to me being a postie thats a weeks wages. it all depends what you are looking for,

I must have missed something here as i thought this thread was about Items for sale and wanted, and there is a sub heading called "birds for sale". Surely the clue is in the title........................birds for sale. As keano said it is all relative, you can only buy the birds that suit your budget. A bird for sale at £20 would look expensive depending on what you can afford to spend, my only concern would be that the conditions the webmaster has set out are observed. We all use the forum for different reasons and i don`t think it`s fair to critisise  a member who openly states he wants to sell his birds. Would you phone the BHW and complain about the birds on sale and the prices asked for them in the paper, no i did not think so.

Incase anyone hasnt seen this post in the Guidelines, Help & Advice Section, this is information for SELLERS, there is also a similar post for buyers.

Use of the For Sale forums on Pigeonbasics.com is for non-proffesionals ONLY

When posting an item for sale please consider:

Write a clear and thorough item description; specify everything that is included, and explain postage/carriage details. A common problem is; 'carriage included or not?' state whether your item is including or plus carriage costs.

Keep in contact with your buyer(s). Make sure they know how the transaction is going, when you receive payment, when you post item(s), etc.. Make sure you respond quickly to requests or questions about your item.

Do not spam. Post your advert once; repeat adverts are not allowed unless the former is removed. No linking outside topics into a for sale topic, to try and make some financial gain by yourself.

As with all features on Pigeonbasics.com use of these boards to sell items is free; however we do accept donations to website funds - more info in what we do with the money - see donation page ;)
