3 x 1st prizes Staf Van Reet Blue Cock For Sale

This 2001 Blue Van Reet cock is only for sale because he insists on returning to his old loft a few miles away. A & L Painter raced from a new address in 2006 and this cock is now the only one who insists on going back. Personally, I think it the sign of a good pigeon that he has his idea where home is - but he's in danger of ruining the team.

He's already won 3 x 1st prizes on the road at his old address and even raced well at his new address (3rd Club 13th Fed 3,000 birds Picauville in 2006).  They could put him to Stock and would love to, but numbers at Stock are declining too

Sire is a 15 year old cock  - GB 91B40210  "WonderCock".   This cock is a grand-son of the old original Van Reets from the mid 1980's - "Dave's Boy Three" and "Toy Girl" etc. The Wonder-Cock is a sensation at Stock being responsible for generation after generation of winners against thousands of birds - and here's a direct son on offer.

Dam is 98D 99864 "Mary's Lass"..  Winner of 1st Club, 2nd club, 6th Fed 3622 birds and 2nd Fed 2339 birds (beaten by a loftmate) She's a direct daughter of "Lee's Lad" - winner of 8 x 1st  plus 2nd Fed, 3rd Fed, 4th Fed etc.  Bred a pen full of winners this cock.  Mother of "Mary's Lass" is "Queenie" - another top breeding Van Reet hen.  Mary's Lass herself is Dam of winners.

PRICE - £125.00Tony Painter on 01902-609703   07973-315313

Mike see this is a 5 yo cock, realise he was a race cock but assume he has been bred from as 'numbers at stock are declining'? If so what have his progeny done please?

Already asked the question mate

He's not been bred from.

You might think that odd but that's the Painter's for you!!   No. 22 won 14 x 1st and they've never had 5 YBs off him yet and he's even older than this cock!!

They never rear off their racers - kinda shows the strength of the Stock I guess.

Mike,

Pigeon is a top class racer but to be never bred off, I think and its only my own opinion That £125 is a bit much, may never breed nowt. I don't want to upset any one as the bloodlines are there but we all no even the best racers don't always produce.

Mike , many thanks for the reply, As he has never been bred from and knowing the reputation and quality of the owners he is well worth a gamble at that price. Of course I would not gamble at that price. I'd put my glass on and know its capability but when I didn't have that ability I would happily have bought,  The Painter's are people I would definately have gone to. I think this bird may wel be a real bargain

As I said I am not knocking anyone the painters are top class fanciers, but I know fanciers who kept birds racing till a good age because they did not breed the right stuff so all I am saying is there is no gaurantee that even though this is a top racer, that this will breed winners so in my opinion and my opinion alone it is a bit pricey, but others will disagree with me and someone may buy it and it will churn out winners, I hope it does but this forum is here to have an opinion and this is mine and that is not knocking the Painters or anyone else.

Fair comment.

Not been bred from - MAY be a gamble - but he's a worthwhile gamble at that price.  Every generation is top class performances with this cock  -and let me tell you something else - There's a LOT more on offer on these forums that are NOWHERE NEAR the quality of this cock

Mike, don't disagree with your last statement some of the prices being asked for mediocre birds is extortianate to say the least. Think some people play on the friendship within these sites.

Hi Beanz

Well, there's always some pleb out to try & make a few easy quid. Thankfully there's some genuine lads around still.  Painter flies in a strong club. They send 400+ birds a week - not one of these little tinpot clubs with 6 or 7 fanciers in it. I know blokes advertise regularly on here who race against competition but we send more out of our STREET than they do in their club!!

Not only is Painter's club strong the Fed is strong too.  Worcester Fed often sends 5,000 birds +  and the Wolverhampton is bigger than that!!

They don't sell many but I know an Irish lad won 1st National, 1st EDC or 1st NIPA with their birds this year.

This Van Reet cock  - winner of 3 x 1st plus other good prizes comes from a chain of strong winners & represents superb value for money at £125.00
