swilcox Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 Chrissy if yoy had ever purchased a pigeon from me you would see that i only send out very quality pigeons!!! I price to what i believe to be value for money being that i have raced these and there children plus they are bred from very successful bloodlines. Of course there are cheaper but to be honest if i was selling them for £30 then that would tell you they are better off in the bin. I stand by my reputation and i have said before i would only send a pigeon both from my loft and my partners loft Raymond Moleveld if it was good enough for me!!!! P.S. the hen pictured from N0 2 was 5th Club from 367birds on saturday!!!!!! Stuart

swilcox Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 A yb no but if i was selling two year olds at that price then i believe that would tell a story!!!
mark Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 hello stuart some people might be able to afford £100 some cant it all depends on your family circumstances as to what you can afford to buy,
Guest malonebros Posted July 22, 2007 Report Posted July 22, 2007 well if we cant afford them...... we cant have them ;D i went to a sale today to buy 2 hens and took £300 with me and came back with 1 hen and £265 in my pocket. reason is the birds were brilliant but i wasnt prepared to pay that much at this time of year. im pleased with my hen tho it was 2nd lowest price bird of sale when birds were fetching between £100 and £1100
swilcox Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Why o why do people highjack sales posts time and time again? I merely offered a few pigeons for sell at a price they are worth to me and people hiding behind nicknames need to question your ethics time and time again!!! It really does spoil it for those that respect this site and use it proberly!!! If you dont agree with the prices then dont buy them!!! But as i mentioned before ask the members of this site and i believe that most would say that my valuations of pigeons are very far taking type, breeding and performance into account!!!! The proof is in the pudding and everyone has been happy so far Chrissy Stuart Wilcox
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 SIMPLE ANSWER IS IF U WANT TO PAY THE ASKING PRICE YOU DO IF YOU DON'T THEN YOU DON'T HAVE TO MYSELF I PREFER MOOCHING BIRDS FOR FREE ;D ;D (A TIP I LEARNED OFF ALF, WHO HAS MOOCHED ABOUT 30 YOUNG BIRDS SO FAR )
Guest Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 Stuart I am really glad for you that everyone is happy with your birds.I only asked you a question. One of my birds is on the cover of a pigeon magazine today having won at a major show nice to know that if I get hard up I could sell it on here,it was free but it must be worth something now..Wonder what I could ask for it?
homebird Posted July 23, 2007 Report Posted July 23, 2007 winning isnt everything its the only thing well done to the bird very smart .by the way isnt it swilcox thats trying to sell his birds ;
Guest Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 Chrissy what right did you have highjacking this post?? Stuart What you on about I am doing you a favour keeping your thread on the board!
soontjen21 Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 A yb no but if i was selling two year olds at that price then i believe that would tell a story!!! i bought an hen for £20.00 she's bred me 4 x 1st prize winner's in 2 year's ???? sorry but the cost doesn't alway's reflect the quality ????
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 i bought an hen for £20.00 she's bred me 4 x 1st prize winner's in 2 year's ???? sorry but the cost doesn't alway's reflect the quality ???? exactly, paper does not make winners, it only empties ur pocket a bit more
The White Rapido Man Posted July 24, 2007 Report Posted July 24, 2007 a bird could cost you £20k................but if your loft management is al wrong, then its no better than a 'farm yacker'.........................
timbarra Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 May I say A pigeon is only worth what somebody is prepared to pay for it, in the pigeon sport nowadays you have to buy good quality bloodlines and then choose to enter and win with them, if they cost £20 or £2000, it depends on the individual buying and if he is prepared to pay the asking price, I do not know stuart and have never dealt with him, and i am sure he does not need me blowing he's trumpet, but if this man is willing to bring quality bloodlines to fanciers, then should he not be commended for this , I can understand peoples views on selling pigeons and the question of how much they are worth shall always be questioned. if you dont want to buy the pigeon best remain within your own boundries of thought. if you do wish to deal with the man , private message him and let others miss out. look after your own affairs and do not interfear with others. regards timbarra, P,S rose your chatting alot lately hope your well.
nigel holloway Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 dont really want to get into the politics of what is sold on this website, but if there is anyone who has put quality birds on this site and has reduced the prices it has been stuart,i personally bought birds from stuart and they have all been quality, stuart has even gone out of his way to get the birds to me personally, what it all boils down to is that if you want the birds then place a bid,if you dont then dont add to the thred, makes thing s alot easier.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I cannot see any reason for some of the posts that have been put on and I have deleted them I have not come across any comments that have not been positive from anyone that has purchased birds from Stuart Also Stuart does not sell his birds on here without donating to pigeonbasics last year he presented a bird that made 180 pounds which he gave to to pigeonbasics to help running of the site some folk were just having a bit of a laugh, but obviously others do not have a sense of humour
Guest Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 some folk were just having a bit of a laugh, but obviously others do not have a sense of humour in full agreement with this statement andy
tillo Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 you know what it's like stu thats one of the reasons im packing up,this sport is stuck in a time warp.
Guest TAMMY_1 Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Well I hope i do have a sense of humour but personally putting on bids that look like you are putting down a persons birds down for some unapparent reason no i dont really think is having a laugh it comes across to me as though there is something wrong and i have yet to see anyone that has bought any of the birds come across with that view in fact totally the opposite NOBODY WAS PUTTING DOWN ANYBODYS BIRDS WHAT SO EVER
swilcox Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Tam I have a sense of humour more than most but you only end up destorting the information thats being presented!!!! And as rose has pointed out this always ends up with a negative comment or too!! about price, performance etc. I suggest you spend more time with your birds Tam!!!! Stuart
Guest Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 I've deleted a few posts from the original thread, and split it to give a thread to discuss in more detail your views on how to put a value on pigeons.
