hi, the decsion was made a few month ago now, and after we have had 5 x 1st this year fanciers (you know what they are like) were saying ' oh you'll be carrying on now!  But we are not, the birds are going.

i have had 2 pm's now from fanciers after them so hopefully all the old birds will have found new homes. Then I will race the Young Birds and they will be going at the end of racing. All birds are raced at least to Ramsgate old birds.

I will be helping my good mate out with his, but wont have to be there day in day out. with work sort of taking over my life at the moment it is very hard to keep competitive. and i can't just keep them for the sake of it, i am a winner and like to give everything 100%.

Another thing, I am in 2 local clubs at the moment, one of which nearly folded back in the winter, when me and my dad steped in a sorted the 'crap' out, and in the end the club was back on its feet, members had split but other members were able to race their pigeons once again, great!

I took on the chairmans role, agreed to set the clocks and read them etc. Go to fed meetings. Mean while fanciers of this club had been asking my good mate to join the club, along with other members, as now we were looking to build the club up once again.

Me and my mate decided that he would apply to join, as then i could take some hens up there and it would keep me involved , setting clocks etc. but not having the responsibility of training feeding etc.

So 3 members applied to join the club. Well i bet you can guess what happened next , 2 out of the 3 were accepted as members, yes and guess what , my mate was refused! The members that had been asking him to join wouldnt even vote for him! some even threatened to resign if he was let in!how 2 faced can you get! It is a disgrace, how can they let 2 in and not the other? anyway, me been who am ,will keep going to this club , will keep setting their clocks, will sort out basket space for the youngbirds. And then at the end of the year i will resign , knowing in my mind i have done my best for this club , even if they have 'indirectly' stabbed me in the back. (this is not the reason we are finsihing, it just hasn't helped!)

The loft will remain for the time been, and who know what will happen in the years to come. But at the moment I/we are still full members of the RPRA , And WHU and will race the youngsters the best we can.

Hope this answers your question. Sorry for the long drawn out reply!!

Hi thanks for the kind words, I will still be involved in a sort of way, like i said will help my mate out, and when there is a late lib on a sat will be able to go watch the birds arrive home. in 2 seasons i have only seen my onw birds come home from a race on 2 or 3 occasions, so i am not seeing the rewards of the hard work i put into them. as our fed always lib early and i have to work on a saturday. I will still be around!

The usual crap in all sports "politics" nobody wants the job, the dafty that takes is expected to run it like ICI, and your no good and they could do better but are too busy looking for faults that they've no time to do it

It will never change its called "human nature" and when you pack in it's no because they think your crap, it's because you were not interested in the sport and youve got all you wanted;D ;D ;D

CRAP, CRAP AND MORE CRAP :'( :'( :'(

ALL the best
