Did the pigeon that jimmy donated get sold and for how much.He deserved a big thankyou with the win,win situation he proposed.

You are correct Fair play he does deserve a big thank you for which i have done in a private pm, but as i expained to Jimmy when the sale got under way the telephone 2 phones never halted and i did not get the time to give Jimmy's pigeon any sort of promotion at all that it deserved, this was because it was a late extra to the sale which was not in the original sale list so did not receive the publicity in the BHW that the other pigeons had in this sale  although i can say this that it would have added further quality to my sale which would have been great.

I hope that if in a few years down the road if i ever run another sale such as this that Jimmy's name will be first on the list. :) :)

Thanks again Jimmy :)

Cheers

Gareth

Today I had the pleasure of going to my son David’s school (sitting next to me in the photo) to present the cheque for the sum of £3505.00 to the children and teachers that are part of the autistic unit who were quite overjoyed at the sum the pigeon fanciers throughout Britain had raised for their unit, and when I say Britain I mean every corner you can think of from Aberdeen to London to Cardiff and Cornwall as well as a great interest from Northern Ireland to the South of Ireland.

I was joined at the school by a photographer for the local newspaper who was stunned by the price’s that pigeons can attain in the sport of Racing pigeons. This sum of money that was raised will go a long way in the equipment needed for the sensory room which will benefit the kids for many years to come and I am very proud of my fellow fanciers in helping me achieve this for my son’s school and for that I thank them very much.

I would personally like to thank each and every fancier who phoned up to place a bid in this charity auction which even today has still left me amazed one month on from the auction in what money was raised.

Now the most important part for me to do is thank the fanciers who were kind enough to donate a young bird for this worth while cause for without these fanciers in donating quality bred young birds it would never have been such a success story, so a big thank you goes to the following fanciers :- Tom McEwen, Elphinstone, R P Combe, Elphinstone, Dennis N Dall, Ladybank, R & M Seaton, Annan, Derek & Linda Hay, Kirkintilloh, Alan Darragh Cullybackey, E Hodgeson & Son, Kilpatrick Fleming, G MacAloney & Son Coatbridge, Jim Donaldson, Peterhead, Joe Murphy, Thornton, Jim Hannah, Blantyre, Crombie & Meechan, Annan, Jim Cullen, Uddingston, Ralston V Graham, Langholm.

I would like to thank Joe Murphy for his assistance and the publicity that he gave to the sale through his coloum in the BHW, also a big thank you to the Pigeonbasics.com website who gave this sale a special place within all it’s pages.

The total raised for these 16 lots was £3131 average of £196 per pigeon which is as follows:-

1- £351,2- £200,3- £205,4- £305,5- £150,6- £140,7- £305,8- £80,9- £180,10- £220,11- £85,12- £150,13- £90,14- £170,15- £150,16- £350.

Now add to this generous donations from G Briggs Dundee, Scott Irving Brydekirk, Bob Armit Fife, Eamon Grew Armagh, Chris Bell Co Tyrone, Douglas Bald Ratho, Mr Limavady Co Derry, the sums were respectfully :- £10, £20, £50, £35, £50, £100 and £200. The sum from the sale was £3131, donations £474 Total amount raised £3605 less BHW advert £100 which means a staggering cheque to the autistic unit for the sum of £3505.00.

Thanks

Yours in sport
