kiateapigeons Posted July 16, 2008 Author Report Posted July 16, 2008 i dont think i was.... no you wernt taking the micky because you have actually heard of this breed of pigeon
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 Have heard of the Irish renowned distance strain of racing pigeons 'The Walkingshaws' and had handled 2 of them i would love a pair or 2 to try out, but your correct in your assumption , i have never heard of limerick tumblers , unless you mean a glass of Guiness , so kiate please do tell me and the other interested fanciers , how do these birds perform ? many thanks Mark
jimmy_84 Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 http://fancypigeonchatter.forumakers.com/talk-pigeons-f1/limerick-tumblers-t55.htm Just check out link there is an article about limerick tumbler's on there not in anybody's defence just think it is an interesting article
ch pied Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 the walkingshaw's pigeon's . are not irish as such , billy brought the base of the strain from england when he moved over here, many year's ago , many national winning loft's over here contain the blood of billy's pigeon's , the pigeon's that you handled were they billy walkingshaw or alex walkingshaw pigeon's ?
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 True there werent originaly Irish , however the strain / ybs are born and bred there so i would claim there Irish as it would say on there rings
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 they were Brought over here from a lass near sligo i believe, a red and a checker wf by a friend of mine , she was very reluctant to part with them , they were class , but he packed up , and i never got a feather i imagine from the type there were they would be kirkpatrick in them
OLDYELLOW Posted July 16, 2008 Report Posted July 16, 2008 would of love to of had a pair or 2 fer next year
