BLACK W F Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 i do not know where people have the idea that the hermans are mostly blue s and dk cheqs as mine where every colour under the sun the meil was a black the JEF a red the waterloo A BL Pied just a sample also wdw was Karel Hermans step son not sun in law karel was in his 70s when he married VDWs mother she was Karels house keeper the first HERMANS where sold in the eary 60s at Newcastle Upon Tyne theatre and struggled to make desent prices as they where in a bit of a state asthey where on a boat for near a month but the guys who did buy got the best deals they ever got and yes ask the guys inthe UNC how they fly crossed plenty used to do well with them cheers Alan

BLACK W F Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 hi please note the K Hermans come in all colours example his champion the Jef a red the Waterloo bl pd and also the blacks VDW was never in partner ship with Karel nor was he his son in law he was his step son and lived on the next small holding karel was in his 70s when he married VDWs mother she was his house keeper his first sale was in Newcastle upon tyne at the old news theatre in the early 60s these birds did not make good prices as they where in a bit of a mess due to being on a boat for nearly a month amongst these where white grizzles the guys who bought these never looked back BASIL BEEBE imported a lot of hermans and was a close friend of karels and after his death imported them from his nephew dr PAUL hermans the hermans where very strong in the UNC area and YORKSHIRE and a lot of guys crossed them with great results with the bushys and janssens cheers Alan

Raced by Mr & Mrs Ted Watson, Trethomas, Bred by Roy Cawfield, Upper Brynamman. He was donated to a youngbird sale.
