    Your young bird races start much earlier than ours in UK , our yb programme starts in July for most of us , so I can understand the need for you to breed earlier for the darkness system so even at your system most are breeding too early in my opinion by two months. When do you put your breeders together to breed ????

     

    They are together since the 26th November.

    When is the last race for the yb in UK?

    I breed 60 young birds. Nearly 1 bird out of 4 is killed by the birds of prey…

     

    They are in the dark from March to the end of May.

    From the 21st June, they are lightened.

     

    I train them more or less 15 times before the first race (15 May).

     

    After 4 races, I remove from the flying team (not from the loft because the partner of this pigeon has to stay motivated) every young bird which misses 2 times in a row.

     

    Sexes are separated on the first week of June.

    Males and females are together about 5 minutes before being placed in baskets.

     

    This year, they have never been on the road between 2 races.

    5x1st with the young birds on Laon, Soissons, Cul-des-Sarts, Soissons (again) and Nanteuil.

     

    I am happy because it's my second year at home with pigeons (I've had pigeons with my father some years ago) and the year before I was unable to win.

     

    I will continue to play only young birds. This year I haven't done the dark in my loft, but I'll try next year.
