  1. That does seem to be the case. My work always gets the same group of pigeons in the parking lot. There's one with a normal wild pigeon body, but a pure white head. It looks rather neat.
  2. That's interesting. So after a few clutches (my favorite stock pair just laid their first pair on the first of the year) They will return to my loft? I don't think they've been flown in a race or anything seeing as they're white homers and ya dont' hear too much about them racing.
  3. I've used a flag to get them off before, but htat makes them just land on the neighbours house, and the neighbours are bitchy about everything. I was thinking using some flax seeds for a lighter feed, but they tend to bum around all day. Even when they're hungry.
  4. I have 4 New york domestic flights that just sit on my roof all day. How do I get them to fly and such? They're about a month and a half to 2 months old.
  5. Wow, I like these birds.
  6. I had figured this would come around.
  7. Well I'm thinking of buying a pair, and the cock is 7 years old. (for racing purposes) how many years do you think i'd be able to get out of him?
  8. For breeding?
  9. Has anybody had any racing success with white homers?
  10. I've seen some videos of birmingham rollers, they look pretty tumbly to me... What kind of tumbling do tumblers do... exactly?
  11. Now that's a cool bird. What makes a tumbler different then a roller?
  12. NPA KTC 8 06 52... Not nessicarily in that order.
  13. Yeah I was thinking that. They do seem to be standing straight up like the highflyers i've seen. Thanks mate.
  14. I bought these birds a few days ago, the guy said they were "flyers", but either way I just liked them, and they were fairly cheep. Now my question is, can anybody identify them? They're close to a month old, maybe a little more. Anybody know what they are?
  15. Ah, excellent. And if they do leave, I only live 15 minitue drive from the person i bought them from, and they're pretty reasonable people i think, so it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
  16. Innit cute?
  17. Innit cute?
  18. I just got my pigeons this last weekend. These are all of 'em so far.
  19. By collect you mean pick them up from their old loft? Other then that, when they're on eggs would be the best time to let them fly?
  20. So the idea is to make it so they can't fly? Or am i getting something wrong there?
  21. No, just to fly for the time being at least.
  22. How do I soap the wings?
  23. I recently bought 4 6-8 month old homers. How long should i wait to let them fly?
  24. Yeah i'm not buying very young birds. Just youngish. That reminds me, how hard is it to relocate homing pigeons without them flying back to their previous owner? And what's the best way to do it? Thanks all for the posts so far.
  25. Alright thanks. I was afraid of the determining sex, but ah well, i'm buying 6, odds are i'll get a pair . Grit required... check. Any recomendations on what should be in the grit?
