hi red chequer hen.The images you see are 400x but on the lst one where you minimised the image i turned the magnification up bringing the image closer ,another 150 at least.i did not think this was cocci,as it was still bigger under the x 400 image than any other cocci i could see.i started to de -canker ,cocci my birds 5 days ago ...these organisms have dropped vastly in their numbers since then.i did not think my birds had worms until i went into my loft this morn,and found a dead round worm on the loft floor,this made sense to me as the sloppy droPpings still continue even after decanker,cocci,treatment...do you think they have a worm burden? i am seeing evidence of a few worms on the slides DAVID

and wont bore you anymore .This is the last one . Lots of room for improvement.thanks all DAVID

I believe i am looking at roundworm ,hairworm,some cocci,bactria that bamboozles me at the moment and the last slide is a funny stick thing ,is this plant debris...?i am looking at these samples with the x40 objective and a bit more.. Please let me know what you think. DAVID

Hi again ,Ryan.....droppings no smell to them.. red cheq hen ..it appears my deck is moving and distorting the photograph when i take it.the light it seems i have managed to sort out and it apears i was using a very dark filter ..see what you think of these pictures..will tell you whats happening with birds after i get your opinion on these pics ..i feel i am getting quite confident at explaining what i m viewing on the microscope deck.. just thought i would post a few pics for 2008. My original birds all came from bits and bobs i started with some three and half years ago,i purchased around thirty five birds and in my first season i managed to get a couple of old bird races and lost them all .I have only one remaining bird from all of the original 35..i then went to a member of this forum for some birds, (Jak Jak...)i got around 6 pairs of yearlings for stock from him .They were jennsenns ,busscharts,verrottes, I paired these up and in time found myself in hospital undergoing major surgery due to an accident . I managed to race these birds with some help from my wife in the training department ,these birds were just given fresh food and water.I raced these youngsters with no system or proper routine and they flew their pants of,managing to clock in just outside the first six on most ocasions ..on the last race i got a fourth club when our fed had disastrous returns ...the birds are pictured here in my new loft .two of these birds i got from Jstoon ..they are pictured together in their nestbox,i intend to put them together and mix the blood with my now team of originals..the blacks and dark cheqs are Jennsenn x verrottes their are starview buscharts in these pictures that are crossed with jennsenns also...i hope you all like them ...Cheers DAVID

I just cant get the picture any clearer and my microscope is supposed to be a good one ..will try some more pics on later and see if these are,nt any clearer ..red cheq hen,just moved birds to new loft and within a couple of days a few birds came down with one eye colds.i left these to clear up on their own and they did but then all birds started showing massive fluid loss in droppings ,left this to it,s own devices as well ...you guessed it?.. birds got sick and these slides i have shown was on day one of treatment ,that was five days ago .will post some more pics later. DAVID

When would you treat for cocci ? on viewing through the microscope,.. how many cocci would you need to see before you would treat....5+or less???? cheers david
