    RIP Tony Hall

Thanx all for your kind words. Paul
  15. It is my sad duty to inform the fancy of the death of my father in law & friend Tony Hall of Wigan, although Tony raced pigeons on and off over the years and won he was better known for his loft building ability and most fanciers in this area have probably had a loft built by him over the years. He was diagnosed with terminal cancer a couple of months ago. Paul
  16. I prefer the Hession and Pallatt lines myself but each to his own, have been told to cross the Mardens into other lines of the Van Reets but I havent tried it yet, was told by a fancier that when they got them they couldn't fly round the loft but as soon as he crossed them they really took off and have won ever since so maybe its time to try it. Having said that I have acquired some more. Paul
  17. Sorry Tony costs money not much chance of that, now if they want to put officials in the top hotels in Blackpool thats ok Paul
  18. I have seen very few recommendations for vets from pigeon men, most get their stuff under the counter or from people who have been to Belgium or from the net the only decent ones are the ones who are fanciers thereselves but the cost is still out of reach of some fanciers, especially with all the things that are being treated for, people are giving this that and the other from various sources and we end up with the breakdown of pigeons immune systems and massive losses, a lot of birds have no immune system any more when they are out they pick up everything and don't survive. Paul
  19. I agee in principle old yellow but Gary has never let me down, everything is done on a screen for you to see, however there are very few vets that know anything about pigeons, when Lizzy came on the scene I thought at last someone who knows but after spending hard earned cash, she told me zilch and just gave me baytril because she admitted she did not know what it was and Baytril clears most things, these are vets we can do without, also Gary has been in pigeons a long time and knows what he is on about, he took over from Ray Ingram and had a long apprenticeship with Ray, about 20 years I believe. So if the choice is Gary or Vets like Lizzy its Gary every time for me. Paul
  20. Seem to Mark, the stuff as I said is water resistant not waterproof though. Droppings seem to dry up. Paul
  21. Gary Spavin is your man, his charges last year were, £2 per droppings sample and £3 per swab, top man. I would definately not recommend Lizzy Rigby, unless you want to know what you haven't got not what you have got. Paul
  22. Mark, The stuff you are on about is water resistant bathroom stuff, I have it on the floors of all my lofts but it is not neccesarily green anymore, the last lot I got just looked like normal chipboard and the stuff before had a brown tint to it, most wood suppliers stock it. Paul
  23. She has not got a clue who did this its only her opinion, no proof whatsoever and it just blackens the name of the sport again, she should get facts before spouting her mouth on television, if it was fanciers and she can prove it then do something about it. Paul
