Hi Guys
I Neeed a bit of advice with regards to "FLAKEY SKIN". " on my birds not me"
Thier meat on the chest is nice and pink, eyes are good and feathers are sound but they still have flakey skin.
ive done some research and it would appear that they suffer from vitamin A defficiency. to which i have steadly fed them increased dossages of vit A in their diet
any help would be greatfull chaps
thnx for the warm welcome guys+girlie
well ive manage to track down some flyers in middlebrough, liverpool and wigan so far im just waiting for the 2 guys who go there to come back off thier hol's and they'll take me along.
ive watched this sort of flying since i was a young lad but never got into it but i do agree some of these birds are amazing the way they fly at such a speed.
i had to laugh today though i was watching the guys train thier birds and this 1 bird landed short of the paddock and walked into the paddock the guy was pulling his hair out screaming and swearing at the pigeon. "probly cos we were all laughing at it"
evening guys.
thnx for your help and advice "stu,,,jimmy".
i do have the address now for the short racing president im sure he will be able to point me in the right direction for the birds i need
thnx again guys.
best regards

hi Tony
well m8 that is how it was done years ago m8 when my dad was a young lad and he was helping my grandad fly his pigeons. but spot on
these days the pigeons are released at a set time in an order which is drawn from a hat then each guy releases his pigeon at the set time then every other guy releases at a minute interval.
your parntner is waiting back at the paddock with the hen in his hand ready to tempt the cock down to land when it lands time stops.
when all pigeons have been released the bird with the fastest time wins
timings range for the mile from 1min 2secs to 1min 15secs.
its all about the sprint
thnx guys for the welcome.
ill be flying just as it sounds "1 mile" there are 8 release spots around the local area with the paddock being in the middle.
and the fastest bird wins simple as that really
the pigeons on the paddock from release to landing take from 1min 2secs to 1min 15 secs
so im looking for sprint birds.
ive tried looking for "miler" forums but cant seem to find any "driving me nuts"
thnx m8 for the help
i had seen them and yes i agree very nice birds and cheap too.
was wondering if they would be suitable for mile racing.??
ive put a bid in anyway
thnx again m8
