  1. I'm no lover of the SHU either but it looks like the first guidance that came out mirrored the RPRA to try and get things going, but owing to the different laws up here they've had no choice but to change them. So in that statement I wouldn't blame them as they were at least trying to get the ball rolling but had to change things with the statement from the MSP on the 2nd June.

group training allowed under 5 miles following the guidlines

Its not group training under 5 miles the law says they can go further read the statement.

  2. Got to disagree with you there Dave, the statement quotes the birds can be transported in disinfected crates, to a distance of less than 5 milesand released.

The SHU president also quotes, that the statement should be adhered to as failure to comply with it could result in there being no racing at all this year!

ITS 5 MILES FOR THE FANCIER TO TRAVEL TO THE GROUP TRAINING TRANSPORTER AND THEN FURTHER WITH THE TRANSPORTER. THATS WHAT THE 5 MILES MEAN.

  3. Alan, the Scottish Government doesn't say no further than 5 miles. That is just the SHU President's interpretation of what the Scottish Government is saying. The Scottish Government recommends local travel to 5 miles for practical reasons, but they have not passed a law to restrict travel to 5 miles. If careful bio-security is practised, then racing could go ahead. Glasgow will be racing from Saturday 13th June under the current RPRA guidance.

Why is the SHU's guidance so different from that of the RPRA?

Surely if there is Fed's racing in scotland it must mean ALL Feds.

  4. You know, I truly believe, that Ms Sturgeon is one of the best, mostly likely the best speaker in any government to day. Indeed weigh above the vast majority. As to what she says, etc. wants one to believe, well that is another tale... she is after all a politician.

She's out to win brownie points don't be kidded.

If clubs can't get the markers there will be no clubs racing
