My opinion is up to 400 mls the most important is the mangement ( training, motivation ...) but for the very long distance races the most important is the bread of the bird( if the bird it is not bread right for the distance , with a good management that pigeon will not win at 700 mls).

60-700 you got to have the birds but management makes them winners especially at the longer races

Like 2 hear your view on following...
Lets say fancier A and fancier B are neighbours. They race in the same organization. They both compete in all the races in the year, they birds are healthy.
BUT...,
Fancier A has gr8 birds, better than fancier B's average birds.
But fancier B has gr8 management, better than fancier A's management.
Who would you put your money on to win the averages at the end of the season?

hotrod it looks like the short races is going to take over there is no long distance doos left due to the sprint but you mention the birdage what has that got to do with snfc its a national open for the members that want to fly the distance feds managed to race inland all the time before the foot and mouth bird flue that is when the constution ended because they were getting the same prase as a bird flying the french races realy there is no change just put the NATIONAL BACK TO STATUS QUO SURLY COMBINES can take over inland races
as an outsider looking in i wouldlike to ask if the snfc is like the nfc if so then it should remain a specialist club for the distance channel birds if fanciers want inland races then why can't a race be created within a longer inland race offered by the other organisations JMO
