We race from a back garden and i think this is better as you can spend more time at the lofts, But i must also say that in this area there are very few allotments. the other thing i like about back garden lofts is that if you are lucky to live in a place like us we do not oftern see other members bird drop, so as far as we know we have the winner in our clock until they are opened at the club. but if you are on the allotments you know you have been beatern sooner and i like the feeling of waiting for the clocks to be opened at the club, P.S. I also hate it when other members of the club phone to ask what time are you in, or tell you what time they are in. RAY

Hi Peckedhen The reason for using peanuts that are for humans is because the ones for wild birds are treated with chemicals, that over a long time can have an effect on the pigeons, This is what we have been told, and everyone in our area say the same thing. hope it is true and not because they all have shares in the local health food shop. RAY

We Give Peanuts to our birds all year round, But only the one's from the health food shop, for humans We only give the yb's a small amount crushed as a treat when returning from training tosses, and races RAY

As already stated most if not all sprint pigeons have Janssen Blood in them. We are into the van-reets and have had a good fewwinners from them. Think that the Sootjens have the Van-Reets blood in them, ???????. May be wrong RAY

No Idear they have all done well with them, and they are all great fanciers in there own right. RAY

Hi Bruno Have heard that if you use Baby Milton Fluid in the water this also helps stop th water freezing Ray

WE also race on saterdays mate, what we do at times is send a cock and leave his hen at home or send the hen and keep the cock at home, We do not always send all the birds as if we think they are not right they are left at home. RAY

we use two sections one with the widowhood boxs the other with hen box's in, you can let the hens out first then let them back into the cocks section after chaseing the cocks into the hens section, then return the hens into there section after letting the cocks out, and do this all week then allow the hens into the cocks section for about 10-15 mins then basket for the race, you can send both cocks and hens to the same race no problems. hope this makes sence to you RAY
