    PEANUTS

Same here, I end up eating them myself lol
  3. Got radio1 in my loft all day long, it chills me out at work, so hopefully will do the same for the birds. Give them as many chopped peanuts as they will eat B4 they go, great for slow releasing energy.
  4. If your not racing till next year, use this year to get a really good loft and keep an eye on who's winning in your local area. Then try to buy birds of them next year. But get the loft right from day one, or you will be changing things all the time. The flying vet book is a good read. Good luck
  5. UNC at a new race point, not sure exactly where yet, but its approx. 200miles to me
  6. ThankYou Craig Speight, Mac1 and Paulo for the young birds they have given me this year. Got some beauties to race in the YB season this season
  7. The future houses might lean a bit as ive just done the drawings for a new estate lol lol
  8. ;D ;D ;D ;D
  9. I do too, i love visiting these older fanciers and listening to their stories etc. Just think the public wouldnt see it the same. Im prob totally wrong as people who have seen it, enjoyed it etc. But ive had a lot of negative things said about keeping pigeons and it does take some convincing people there not scruffy streeties etc If anyone visted Thornaby lofts for example, some are a disgrace and anyone passing would think they were run down sheds. One loft is leaning about 30degrees, i wouldnt keep streeties in it lol
  10. Ive got to admit the old gadge was a character, but how does it get young lads to join if we show just older men on the show. They should have visited a few younger members as well to show the younger generation that there are younger people racing. And also visted some modern tiled lofts to show the general public that pigeon lofts aren't all run down shacks etc
  11. Cider vinegar in water every day and probiotics or strike if dropping appear watery
  12. Ive got to admit I didnt think it did us any favours, but maybe im looking from a pigeon fanciers point of view. I was surprised how many people texted me to say they were watching it, even the ex-girlfriend who hates pigeons texted me about it, so maybe it worked lol lol
  13. Excellent work Jimmy
  14. I was looking at a members birds in the basket on friday and thought they looked a bit puffed up round the ears, and thought it was strange, but he took the first 4positions in the club. so cant of been a problem ;D ;D ;D
  15. Get your bike out and go riding in an east wind and you will see the difference, East winds are generally bloody freezing and when thats hitting you in the face its a bloody nightmare lol lol
  16. I would say east winds do hurt them!! I sent 8cocks 156miles for their first race on sat, on the night I didnt have a yearling and was a 5 year old cock down. Got two yearlings the next day but still no sign of the third one or the 5 year old cock. The yearling had an excuse, it was its first race and only the 3rd time it had ever been in the basket, but the 5year old, I would have bet my life on him being my first bird home, as he's won twice and scored loads of times. East winds are not good anyone and anything lol!!! But they had to go or the jump would be even worse for them next week.

    Basket Day

Try to keep them in, I had to sneak in this morning as they were mad kean to fly out. Just fed them as much as they like and will take corn out at 1oclock today, and give em a few peanuts for a little extra energy with the wind being north east.
  20. Good luck Mark, thats the way the sport should be, I wish I could get that feeling back lol
  21. I went out biking last night and it looked nice and the temp was abt 17degrees, but it was bloody freezing in that wind!!! Nowt worse than a head wind and thats at ground level lol
  22. www.weather.co.uk says it will be a North-East wind!! Im worried about my yearlings too. It will be their first race of their life for mine!!!!!!
  23. Panic Over - He was in his box when I got home, he had been sat down his old loft :B. Thats the last time he will see a basket now lol lol

    feather rot

;D ;D ;D good one ;D ;D ;D Ive seen it used and it does seem to work, they are left with a bald patch until they moult, unless you pull the feathers out, which cant be good. You should try Easitox from the PigeonPharmacy, it seems to kill all lice and mites etc
