  1. Moxidectin+ is the best wormer at the moment as it kills all worms and any body lice. Im packing in at the end of the season, and will be keeping a few pair as pets, if you send me some rings down next year you can have the young of them. Mainly all corbett bushearts.
  2. Gotya, you wouldnt believe how dumb I feel mate, I bred him it LOL LOL LOL.
  3. I think it does affect them. My lofts are only about 10ft appart and face each other YBs one and Widowhoods the other, and when I let my YBs out the cocks go daft in their loft and wont sit still. Ive had to put blinds up to stop them seeing out but they can still hear them outside and still go daft.
  4. Alright Jimmy, Thats a Tees Valley pigeon, if you PM me the full number, Ill get in tough with the owner for you. Thought it was one of mine at first.
  5. Like I posted earlier, I had a bad chuck sunday, but have now managed to get 18 back out of 21 and have found the same as you, there not down at all. I just gave mine a really good feed yesterday morning and put electrolytes in the water, and they still went off ranging last night for half an hour. All their droppings were perfect this morning, so I think its the best chuck they will ever get, as at least they have all made there own way home. You will be getting YBs back all week probably .
  6. Agree about the east winds I took mine on sunday and had a terrible chuck (got most back eventually). I reported a yb last night and the lad had lost half his team yesterday.

Save him for Claremont if he has already won from that distance. But if you are going to send him, a good indication would be if he came back from 400miles and didnt show any signs of stress. My bourges candidates have both won from 400 and 450miles and came back as fresh as daisys on hard days. The forcast doesn't look good though, so I may keep mine off yet. Good luck if you send.
  8. Must have been something with the weather yesterday, as I gave mine their second training toss and had a bad one. I took them friday and got them all together within 5 mins of getting home, so I took them back to the same point yesterday, and didnt see a pigeon for 3 hours, then just got ones and twos for the rest of the day. Out of 21 I ended up with 11 home last night and 1 reported 20miles west of my loft. And got another 4 back this morning. The funny thing is their not flown out at all, like you would have expected if they had been trying to get home all day. The not taking old birds with them may be right, as I took two oldns with em and they did split up when released, and looked like they were baffled.
  9. Cheers Hyacinth, would it work with just the tea, as there on heavy corn to keep the weight on for the race. Or would giving them barley work for the channel race??
  10. I have paired my birds back to try and win our longest race. My two candidates (both cocks) have flown well at distance races last year. They have had most inland races this year and have done their usual plodding home as you would expect from channel birds. They have been sitting now for about 6 days and they will be basketed up next wednesday for the race, and are currently getting trained every morning from 15 miles and flagged an hour on an afternoon. My only problem seems to be their skin is more purple than pink, does anyone know if this is because they are being fed a heavier corn than they are used to. They look OK and are dropping down feathers but I want them in A1 condition, so I have a really good chance of getting them on the day. Any clues as to what to give them to get the pink skin back etc
  11. Also depends on whether they are likely to be paired up as stock, as you would obviously have double that when the YBs are in the nest. And how much ventilation the shed you have.
  12. Bart, if you havent yet managed to get Doxy-T, PM me as I know where to get it.
  13. I like to see two, one either side of the birds body LOL .
  14. They have come up with these restrictions for a reason, we as fanciers just have to get on with it and deal with it, keep a few off for the next channel race etc. Dont see the problem really, and think we should just be happy to be allowed to race the channel.
  15. Lillers - 350miles to me, first channel race for UNC, should be interesting.
  16. The best fliers in my area seem to be tipplers, they fly all day long LOL

I used it (must be the pure stuff) last year monday to thursday, if they'd had a bad race the weekend b4, and it definately improved them. It only works if all is perfect health wise with the birds, and is just a boost. I havent bothered much with the birds this year so, havent really tested it again, but now channel racing is on they are getting it again. One thing I would say is make sure they have a few days of clear water b4 a 500+ channel race, as they need maximum fluids B4 they go.
