    Hi all

hi robert & welcome to this great site & forum, where you from
  9. thanks silver wings, yes one very kind member sent me 2 quality young birds down from scotland recently, (J.W) and am reading up more on the distance birds, but like you said, im in no rush for results & races, so may breed a couple in the spring, i just think that they are much more inteligent than the sprint birds & a few people have won the shorter races with these kind of birds too. (jim, both birds doing fine & very healthy)
  10. any captions for this one of westy??
  11. Thanks jim, got the letter then?, nice little verse that was.
  12. took this one of martin(westy) he brought an egg home about 1 month ago & swapped it for a young birds small egg she laid, (it would have been infertile) so i asked him where he got the egg from? he said fred(a local we met who helped us start back into pigeons) which he carried in his pocket for 3 quarters of an hour on & off a bus. fred said he didnt want the egg as he didnt know which hen laid it, as it was laid on the floor, so anyway guess what? the egg hatched & it was a lovely brown healthy chick? BROWN said fred? it must have been my white logan (prize winner long distance) & his red check(also prize winner) so fred popped up & put a ring on him(BROWNY) he wont leave martins side & follows him every where he goes! he thinks martin is his new dad! martin said "dad" just like you & your first pigeon snowy" he is so proud" posted more pics on my website ! WONDER WHAT BROWNY IS WHISPERING MARTIN(WESTY) ??????
  13. thanks jim, will look more into it.
  14. as a new starter, & preparing to race in 2006, i fancy the long distance racing, is there any particular breed or strain that is good for longer distance that you would recomend. thanks
  15. yes please remember it is only for fun, to pass a bit of time & getting the birds through the moult, please nothing too complicated.
  16. I remember my uncle using something in a bucket & dipping all the birds in? i think that was for lice
  17. well when is the start date & finish date to send photos>?
  18. yes, a few of mine had lice & treated them all with a spray, but now i use strong garlic water for them to bath in once a week & no more lice! great tip that was off bruno & fifer

ive tried a few times to give mine some, but they never touch them, even tried when they are hungry, & even broke them up a bit
  23. thanks bewted, its just that i have a muffed with 2 different coloured eyes, we was just wondering what she was, was told a cross wolverhampton tumbler, she is brown & white & really small, http://www.freewebs.com/racingpigeonsbirmingham
  24. adamant, my son & i have only had our loft up 3-4 weeks, look at our website, we had 3 rabbit hutches all free in the local bargain pages. but just had to get a loft, simple three quarter inch ply would be better than a rabbit hutch though. http://freewebs.com/racingpigeonsbirmingham
  25. just like jim himself! so ive heard!!!
