    CLOCKMANS LOFTS

it was an australian vetran! look at the corks hanging down! lol lol ;D ;D only joking clockman, great lofts mate, in the process of building an aviery like yours on my loft! great vents, the bigger the better so ive heard.
  3. bruno, yes read a bit on honey on a few sites, say it gives them more energy which you should notice the following day, so i would give the day before a race, and generally good for them, im using the natural honey with nothing added whats so ever, its not exactly clear, but not as cloudy as some, its more clearer at the top, its supposed to be straight from the comb
  4. cheers all & diamonddave, still not 100% if cock or hen, she/he just wont do nothing, i think its because its been raced before > might keep mealy hungry & try & break her
  5. now i use garlic twice a week johnsons tonic once a week fresh water the rest of the week & started to put a table spoon of honey in a 2 LTR bottle of water also once a week in the breeding section,

    Peanuts

i have also heard that the ones for birds can carry mould on some of them & can be bad for the pigeons. also when doc white ;D told me about the nuts i chopped them at first, , but now they love em, but only 1 or 2 nuts per day each, its the nuts that got my birds so tame, even the stock birds i got off people are now waiting for me in the morning for their nut out of my hand, if they dont take it out my hand, they dont get one But its worked for me, & when i go in the loft now at first light before the hens get off the eggs, theres one or two that will take the nut while sitting on the nest ;D its a good feeling to get them this tame & trust you.

    sand

we brought a 25kilo bag yesterday for £3.50 & trying it, it looks good down & absorbs them big slug like droppings in the breeding section, so twice a day i can easy just scrape the slugs up & the surrounding sand, & just brush or scatter a bit more sand where i got it up, it will last for ages, as you only need a slight covering, & its got bits of grit in it too & steralised. saves all the wood shavings being blown around ;D

  22. nice one ray, myself & westy went up to day, (after me finding it, im hopeless) & what a great shop it is! no sign outside, nothing fancy, but top quality stuff! pigeons, doves, frills, tipplers, tumblers, muffed, then i looked behind me & there were 2 big indoor avaries inside another door, with loads of pigeons! the sign on the doors said BLACKPOOL SPEC PIGEONS AT BLOXWICH PRICES!!. got a big roll of weld mesh £13.99! a bargain, (its £5.00 for a 3ftx2ft piece at homebase). i was like a big kid in a sweet shop! if it wernt for the ammount of customers he had, i would be running up n down too! lol. a definate return there soon from me! people buying pigeons by the Big brown paper bag! great friendly bloke & even gave me 2 2006 pigeon wall planners. ;D ;D
