Ribble whats the favorite saying in the pigeon world good corn clean water . what a load of rubbish this day and age you wont win pigeons with just good food clean water also you hit the nail on the head we never treat what another load of rubbish all the top lofts treat and they treat while racing. Ill be honest here my birds when racing get clean water once a week.Also i treat while racing.

Snowy a few years ago my birds were exercising well round the lofts going off ranging for 1 hour no problems then a week later i got 2 ybs coming back after 10 minutes landing on the house they would do this after every exercise so i put them in a basket and took them to get tested by brian green.i watched the screen he tested the droppings all clear then he took a swab test down the throat theres your problem he said canker on the screen was this little bug spinning like mad i took the birds home and treated and had no problems that year. What i did do was go out and buy a microscope and i now test my own droppings.The scottish fanciers might know this fancier who topped the scottish national a few times in one season Mel Bell he sent me some droppings to test is birds were not right i teseted them told him what was wrong and what to get from vet that season he topped the scottish sections all the top fanciers treat when there the birds have been held over lot of fanciers treat for canker once maybe twice a month to win races they have to be healthy ask my friend he won 35 firsts this year.

ch pied if you take a swab test you wont find yellow deposits you will find a little bug what spins like mad under the microscope

How many fanciers treat before pairing up or before racing.

We must have been vacinating in the uk now for 25years if they are making millions out of the pigeon fancier dont think they will ever put a stop to it.

I remember a long time ago buying a yb at a local club breeder buyer which i could have the pick of the loft the ybs were still in the nest bowls and i picked a black witty yb out of the top nest box (can tell it was a long time ago dont see wittys about these days) the first yb race from newark the yb won the race the following week the yb was lost from the same race point on the sunday morning i got a phone call to go pick the yb up from the same loft i had bought it from and when i got there the yb was sat in the same nest box from where i picked it from.

Well said billy that was the point i was trying to put accross regarding trying to sell pigeons on here andrew states he sold most of is birds in the bhw which he night have done but what he couldnt sell he tried selling on here or the up north combine site we all used to chat on the usa site around 5 years ago until it was closed and richard started this site up and what a great job hes done we all used to meet up at blackpool every year some meets we had around 20 fanciers meeting in the ballroom. In my opinion the auction should be all for pigeon basics like the rachels fund which maddy and clockman did a great job.

Snowy all the top lofts will be treating for canker before pairing or when the birds have laid the second egg i use flagyl tablets 1/4 tablet per bird.Reading some of the posts on here spartrix is just the same as flagyl but you pay £15 from harkers if you go to vets and ask for metronidazol tablets they work out £3 a packet for 21 when you give them a 1/4 tablet each 84 doses for £3 saving £12 from harkers spartrix.The rubbing of a red match to get rid of canker just get rids of the canker on the surface not deep in the crop snowy this day and age only healthy birds win races.

Westy why you training birds in december? All the top fanciers round here havent had there old birds out since the last old bird race same with the ybs.
