  2. the man you want is Taylorlofts he s got the answers
  3. I must agree that this bird will never come to anything no matter what it is bred out of,consider the rest of the birds and weed out the ones that may contaminate them itll save you a lot grief in the future, dispose now before you get in any deeper sorry
  4. start against a wall.////////form a tunnel out of brick on edge to get a bit height so the trap can go off///if possible make it an offset in shape and at the wee kink in the tunnel set the trap and cover it with a slate ///the trap will be ab out 12 to 18 " from either entrance /// do not cover the plate /// rat tend to hop about and it will jump onto the plate to keep up its momentum./ you will see the urine trails or greasy marks where they are working that how you get them becaue they have not got good eyesight they fo;;ow thier noses ensure that you cover the entire length of your tunnel or youll get the wee birds going in for a neb I have also used 4" plastci pipe set up as above and it works
  5. the bait i used was a bit of smoked mackerel smear it onto the fen trap plate and dont go to far away youll get a result in a peerie blink mind and tie the trap down or theyll take it away and eat the deed one for free.
  6. they start to breed at 6 to8 weeks and have about 12 young per nest so if you ve only got 10 you might have a few to get yet I used to have the birds in an old piggery and they lived under the concrete took me years to get shot of them I knew a guy in East Lothian who kept ferrets he swore they kept them away just by he smell of them By tyhe way they stink so maybe he had a point
  7. it all crap as long as they can see oot them is all that matters
  8. you dont have to like them to use them fight fire with fire
  9. get your own cat and train it not to touch your birds as you would a dog itll keep other cat out of you space I did this years ago it works

  15. has any one noticed that they tend to come around about the same time of day when they are hunting I noticed this a few years ago and work to their timetable I live in a small village the nearest loft to me is about a mile away he gets hit a lot more than I do I only see the one S/hawk these days about 8 in the morning and at 4 in the afternoon , about 10 years ago I was hit three time s inside 40 minutes despite three men in the garden with me at the hut I suppose the dogs would have been there as well in short put the birds out for about an hour on the hungry side so you can get them in if you dont keep them fit they have no chance open bowl is an invitation to disaster the guy near me is proof of that. encourage crows to stick around your place they go for hawks for fun,
