In Egg! (Newbie) (1/8)

  1. I am an agent for the IcomRing here in Australia, Because they are from a plastic they are a lot lighter than the normal style life ring being used now and even with the chip fitted will be lighter than the combination of a life ring and a chip ring. Flyers have an option of a chip that can be removed or can glue there own chip in the same as the current chip ring. I am recomending the removeable option so they can be re used on another pigeon the following year. Regarding cost, the ring and chip combined work out to cheaper than what the old chip ring was. Chip rings here in Australia sell for between $2-75 - $3-25 each from the ETS agents whilst the IcomRing will be between $2-55 to $2-65 depending on the exchange rate. I believe that these rings have been offered to the RRPA. The IcomRing is being used in 4 countries and will be used in 2008 in Australia with several thousand ordered. Already more than 20000 have been ordered for the 2008 breeding season.
  2. I have used this product for several years as well as most of my pigeon neighbours. We get hit daily by the falcons , sometimes 3 or 4 at a time. I have to breed an extra 50 - 70 birds each year to cover the losses around the loft due to the attacks. My neighbours also do the same. So i would say that it being a falcon detterent is pure ****.

    ETS

Have to agree poacher, here in Australia we use clocks with thimbles, clocks without thimbles and ETS and to date i have not heard of 1 flyer that has left the sport due to the introduction of ETS. Those leaving are mostly due to the cost of racing, the losses in races, the time needed for looking after the pigeons or the fact that they are not competitive results wise. Remember if you have not got a pigeon in the leading group then it does not matter what type of clock you have you will not win or take a prize.

    ETS

It was listed on the Bricon site last year that the Unicon Champ and Benzing Express did not have approval for use. Maybe that has since changed ????

    ETS

Gangster, You are correct regarding the Unikon Champ and i think also the Benzing Express, both have failed to get the necessary pass because of security concerns. An independant company named TNO tests all clocks for security to ensure that the system that people use in 100% secure. Both the above systems have failed these tests. Strange but a lot of countries dont bother checking on things like this. People assume that because a company sells a clock that it must be OK to buy????
  6. Has anyone got John Halsteads E Mail address????
  7. Whats the Best Book or Video on pigeons that you have purchased and why???
  8. The "Kanibaal", i would be rich by now.
  9. Over here it can be uo to 700mls plus.
  10. I have pigeons from Dirk bred in 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2005. The quality of those bred in 2001 - 2003 is outstanding but the ones bred in 2005 are not of the same quality of the earlier bred van dyckes. Maybe he is not so selective now and is more interested in filling the grower list of orders.
  11. These pigeons are used by some of the biggest names in the Sport. They are having a HUGE impact in every country including Belgium, Holland & Germany. Try and buy something bred direct from the Kanibaal and see how much they are.
  12. Ifs its Australia then i may be able to help. Its VERY Expensive :'( :'( :'(
  13. Correct Geraint, Once inserted CORRECTLY the linking of the chip with the life ring and pigeons details still has to take place. On basket night i assume that over there that each pigeons details regarding the life ring and colour etc is checked against what is displayed on the clock screen.
  14. I can vouch for the quality of pigeon that Stuart handles, i imported to Australia from Stuart 3 direct Dirk Van Dyck pigeons. All being Grand children of Kanibaal or Bourges. THESE ARE CRACKERS!!!! If his other selections for a sale are as good as these then super quality at a good price is assured.
  15. The company Deil Electronics in holland are selling for 2007 the life ring with a chip inside, you can buy the life ring and put the chip in yourself later or buy with the chip fitted. If a chip fails all you have to do is put on a normal chip ring like you do now. These new life rings are called Icomm rings and come with a Phillips chip which currently siuts Mega, Benzing, Bricon and Unicon. All clocks will soon have to be updated to suit the new Phillips ring which will be standard for all clocks in the next couple of years. Each clock company could do this now as in some countries each clock must be able to read each Chip ring currently used. I sell the Mega Clocks in Australia but i also supply Chip Rings to suit Mega, Benzing, Bricon, Unicon, Tauris and Tipes. It appers the prices you are paying are at the top end of the scale as i sell for less than those prices you are quoting.
