  1. It's a sad day when snfc members are talking like this about an inland training race I refuse to call them a national race shows the change in the club do away with both and make Ypres the 1st race let's get back to what wee do best ok let's here from all the sprint/middle distance iam expecting a slaughtering but JMO

    You are spot on Frank.

  2. Thanks for that. The ring was issued to Jock Leadbetter but I dont know if he still has pigeons.

I dont have his phone number so I can not contact him.

Have reported to S.H.U.suspect bird is local had E.T.S.ring on and was fed this morning.

  3. I always enjoyed visiting with the wife and kids who thought we were in a foreign land when Georges parents started to speak, great memories. I think it was Bob McDonald that stitched Storm Queen, small loft great fanciers.

  4. On this one Walter you tell me??

Eric Fox of Bakewell raced in the Peak District his performances in National racing through the years were legend, flying in the National Flying Club, four times 1st. Section Pau (683 miles), three times 1st. Section Nantes and 5th,7th,15th. 46th. Open he did not race young birds, bred approx 50 some of which were sold.Jim Emerton rates him legend status. Pau 683mls first year racing tells all.

  5. Chris Gordon had an auction at Blackpool. If you can get a copy of the sale list there may be some interesting reading there.

I would be guessing at the breeding but I think they are Pearson and Dransfield Busschaerts X Eric Fox pigeons (I could be wrong there).

I believe Pennine Heights is 50% these lines.

    Snydale Express

  6. Can anyone on here give some information regarding the Snydale Express lines ,who has them, what have they done ,distance flown etc,any insight would be helpfull thank you!.

Snydale Express grandsire Old 28 was a key pigeon within Chris Gordon and Eric Fox families, this line was introduced into the John Ellis family with great success, all distance pigeons.

Just watched MANY MILES WITH MOTT DVD Long Distance Greats Eric Fox Special number 8 a wee treat.

  7. class pigeons from a class fancier

Little Mike's bloodline or the Aberdeen cock as he is known contains Davie Rose of Aberdeen. he is also a grandson of Jim's Denis Dall cock when he was paired to SU902459, Niort Lady 1st section, 34th Open Niort, 775 miles also 2nd North Section, 14th Open Sarilly. Her sire was Circus Boy.great pigeons raced by Jim and Ann a lovely couple.

He had to spend sometime, I remember when he fell on his way to the chip shop he was fine as his wallet broke his fall.

  10. send pigeons to that distance would play into the hands of those wishing to see pigeon racing banned,it has been tried but was unsucessful as a race, just look at the entry to the longest race with the S.N.F.C. a club that stands for long distance races.....the total number of birds sent is pityful to say the least.....I think thats why Jock Ellis called his red pied cock "ENDURANCE"...JBC/..

ENDURANCE.in 1972 race from Palamos was won by C.R.Medway of Southhampton 661 mls 693 birds his vel 637, John was 2nd sec 88th Open in 1973 race was won by R.Churchill Weymouth 657 mls 702 birds vel 627 .ENDURANCE was 1st sec 27th yes 27th OPEN in race time beating 675 quality birds the fact he raced 1004 mls mind blowing you will see by the winners velocity these were hard races. The fact he has left behind a dynasty of winners makes him like John Ellis a legend.

Weather dictated low velocities both races.
