  1. Most Ayrshire members will have known Dan, unfortunately I can't help with anything on your grandfather Victor sorry
  2. Left a dynasty, Van Wanroy blood in plenty top long distance lofts like Jan Theelan, Hans Eijerkamp etc
  3. Normally pair them all around middle February....this year I've paired my stock, two weeks back ...don't think I'll bother pairing my race team other than 3 or 4 pairs in a natural section the rest will race on a split sex chaos system...need to find a way of working them on the very limited time I have with not living at the lofts
  4. Tbh I didn't pay all that much attention other than a couple I had picked out which went for between £150 and £200 a few birds struggled around 50/60 quid. Think dearest lot was £500
  5. Went pretty well, the birds were in great condition. Definitely some handy pigeons amongst them and pretty sure you'll read of winners out these birds over the next few years
  6. Chipboard loft flooring is the best stuff, plywood splits
  7. Mines had probably a dozen tosses before the first race and another dozen since then.... furthest I've been is 25 miles. Cant train them enough imo aslong as your not stressing them. If they have a sticky one or they don't come like id like I'll happily give them a day or two off. As for yb racing that will never change not enough people willing to try something different
  8. Similar to myself haven't lost a single yb training on my own or group training with another couple of trusted fanciers with approximately 2 dozen tosses. However have lost around 20 over 4 races. Read into that what you like but uneducated ybs at races is a major issue. When they don't clear the liberation site quickly your chances of raptor attack are much higher and when they do attack the damages done is far worse as the birds aren't yet racing for home. Why we still race ybs at this time of the year is another point that must be considered due to the falcon population we face.
  9. Have 39 birds at Wooler with Ayrshire federation. Great race last week after a sticky first one
  10. Ayrshire heading to Lauder tonight....not many federations marked tonight hopefully we take out time with what is very hard weather to read
  11. Tarbes race.... No yearlings aloud at Barcelona. UK leader in at 10am
  12. That's the french birds in the clock. Love the international races so envious of those down south
  13. Ayrshire federation on with SNFC at Maidstone.
  14. Ayrshire federation at Wooler
  15. 3/3 snfc Kettering bit behind, but pleased getting work into them
  16. Ayrshire federation at Kettering convoyed with SNFC
  17. 5/8 from Stafford with Ayrshire federation
  18. Stafford with Ayrshire federation
  19. And also consider feds in the west cutting their own throats by going down the M6. Another skelping for Ayrshire Federation full returns from Lauder and Wooler switch to Appleby and Appleton last too weeks and we're wiped out. 6/12 here nothing since dinner time yesterday, 15/25 last week from Appleby just not sustainable to race this way unfortunately pigeon fanciers aren't willing to learn or to adapt. Proof is in black and white.
  20. Ayrshire federation up at 0930
