you can transfer shu rung birds to any other member of any other union if all the paper work is in order and suspension is not in place.
-
i should also have said that if your first clock was ok at checking they never opened the second clock. the drill was red rubber into first clock snd blue rubber in second clock. you also to mark your main clock as 1st clock
-
the reason for double rubbers in lon races was a back up put int a second clock in the event of a problem with your first clock stopping etc. many set two clocks for natinal racing for that very reason
-
les you are clutching at straws you can be charged by the police for even disturbing them. i must add that i am strongly in favour of control of such vermin but loose words will never help the cause of those who are actively invlolved especially at government level
-
old yellow is 100% CORRECT pigeon papers and sites like this are scrutenised by rspb the National Heritage and the police are also active in such publications. remove get rid of are terms that suggest if not the killing certainly the trapping this is also illegal

if an escape takes place some organisations insist on the birds being rerubbered this requires the birds id rings being recorded and the new rubber recorded against that bird . the rule applying to ets birds as per SHU AS follows quote in the event of an escape, where required, ETS birds must have their official Union ID Ring Number recorded unquote the same procedure would be accepted for non ETS after all that is the guarantee that these are the birds competing in that particular race and that is the important requirement. in an escape a method should be adopted by the the organisers to ensure that escapees could not qualify for positions in that particular race.

i dont know about alex but you will likely beat me each week i treat y/bird racing as a learning process for y/birds and dont worry as long as they fly steady and keep healthy
-
ok but maybe unwise to put it on display may give fertile minds something to talk about hope all goes well for your club so good luck
-
not being a member i dont know what the problem is
-
one fancier i knew did put his clock in base station but had it the wrong way round
-
I AGREE WITH DOO RACER NOT HAD A PROBLEM SINCE JAGGING AT 3 TO 4 WEEKS Y/BIRD SICKNESS HAS BEEN SEEN ON SOME CASES ALLIED TO PARA. DONT AGREE WITH JOE61 MOST SEEM TO GET IT BEFORE THEY START RACING. MY ADVICE ALWAYS JAG YOR Y/BIRDS BETWEEN 3 AND 4 WEEKS WITHOUT FAIL

i agree with your comments on viral infection IB

i dont agree with all my birds in the one basket but would never claim that my views are a must for others. regards trianing our birds to drink in the basket , our young bird loft has been adapted so we have an opening to outside where we fit a basket and that is where the drinkers are it works for us but may not suit every one
-
do you not think to many fanciers only look for some one else to blame, good idea to blame your own management first and if all is well then cast your net wider
-
sad as it may seem i dont think ALL fanciers do
-
do you believe ALL fanciers train their birds to drink in the basket

i know a person who has her immune system deliberately supressed after a transplant and now is in great danger of suffering from all sorts that would not be a problem to the rest of us Thats what the Cicovirus does disables the immune system.
-
dove scot ---- you are correct but the danger of the CIRCO VIRUS is that any other disease can not be treated as the immiune system is disabled.

OFFICIAL REPORT and i quote from it hope it is helpful when you speak to your vet. signs of PARAMYXOVIRUS, such as watery diarrhoea, going round in cicles, loss of balance, difficulty in picking up food. in some cases mortality was as high as 80%. some lofts the young birds had been vaccinated against paramyxovirus but couldnt respond as they had already been infected by a secondary viral disease CICOVIRUS INFECTION Cicovirus is involved in some outbreaks of YOUNG BIRD SICKNESS. Circovirrus can only be diagnosed by carrying out a post mortem not part of thr standard post mortem. investigations carried out on 36 y/birds from 17 lofts suffering from a range of problems. results staggering. 27 of the thirty six birds, representing14 out of 17 lofts. Circovirus not only prevents the birds from fighting off other diseases. vaccinate birds as early as possible --from 3-4 weks if delayed the birds may first become infected with Circovirus, damaging their immine system will prevent them from responding to paramyxovirus vaccine

Tony i agree ---i believe exactly in what you say stress one of our greatest problems. beware of the over and misuse of antibiotics
-
i dont know a serious racing man who would want their birds in one basket. maybe its the old adage of not putting all your eggs in one basket . will be intersted in any reports on clubs who do it

a good number of years ago lanarkshire fed decide they should try milton if approved by a vet --- the vet a mr mcrae from perth replied that there was a question about it interfering with the birds digestive system -- so the idea was shelved -- i do belive it should revisited as to its possibility -- you can check with lanarkshire fed sec he will remember
