I think i will cut back on the food then. I let them out twice, once in the morning and once in the evening around five. I just didnt want to cut back on the food straight away as everybody has told me to feed younbirds as much as they can eat, i didnt want to stop their growth. Thanks.

Hi all. Im just wondering how much you feed your youngbirds. They are raking away from the house in the mornings an im considering taking them for there first toss next week. Only problem is i cant seem to get them to trap, they prefer to sit on the loft or lie in the garden after exercise. I am feeding them until they are full at night and there is no food left except a bit of barley. Some people have said to feed youngbirds until they are full and give them as much as they want, but now as it is coming towards the start of the season should i cut back on the food and if so how much per bird would you recommend? I am happy with the way the birds are exercising and looking. Thanks for any replies.

Some quality young birds from mac1. really well rared, comin on leaps and bounds. cant wait for the first race!
-
Can these be done at the same time or is it best to do them a couple of weeks apart, i havent noticed any symptoms just like to do it before they start training etc.
-
They look great. how many do you have?
-
When do you treat your racing birds for these? Can these two be done straight after each other or it best to wait a while, Thanks.

Hi all, Has anybody got or will have anyunwanted 09 youngbirds. After a dreadfull end to the old birds season last year (losing 7 of 10 old cocks in 2 races all of which had flown the race atleast once before) Im going to struggle to rare the amount of youngsters i want For the forthcoming season. Last year was a bitter pill to swallow and im looking at trying to revitalise the loft and regain that exciting feeling. I am of course willing to pay for the delivery of the pigeons. If anybody is interested pleas pm me. Thanks again.

Im just nervous that i wont be able to get the numbers together at the right time i suppose. If i was racing my old birds aswell id spend more time concentrating on them, but i really want to have a gd season with the youngsters as last season was very hard to take as i lost alot of good birds.

Hi all, Im having trouble getting my stock birds to lay eggs. They have all been paired up for a gd time, although never previosly lay eggs together. I cant understand why this is happening, could the loft be too cold? Its really frustrating as after i lost alot of old cocks last season ive decided to concentrate on the young birds this season and will not really be racing the old uns due to lack of numbers. I normally rare between 20 and 30 youngbirds but i had planned to rare more this season, i know there is still plenty of time to rare birds but i had planned to get all the birds down at the same time in order to get 2 or 3 pairs from the birds. I have considered buying youngsters but as i my loft is run on a shoe strin budget this is unlikely to happen.Would moving some of the birds into a diffrent section help or would this disrupt them even more? Any help would be great. Cheers

Hi all, Im looking at trying a few diffrent families next season with my young bird team. Some sprint some long distance and middle distance birds. Does anybody beleive having diffrent families in a young bird team helps or hinders birds atall. For example when training etc. Thanks

Hi all, I was wondering if anybody had any information on these pigeons. Im not 100% sure it is spelt van coppen but if not it is very similiar. What distances do these birds race and does anybody own or have any information on these birds. Many thanks. North road racer.

So with everybody coming up to thier first young bird race of the season, how do we all prepare the birds on a friday night? Feed? If any body splits thier youngbirds intohens and cocks do they give them some time together before the race? Thanks.

Has anybody ever split young birds up into hens and cocks and raced this way? Before the first race of around 70-80 miles how many training tosses and at what distances would you recommend? Thanks.
