The bird have been a couple of miles. a fair few times now, and were two'd up from there last night. This morning I bit the bullet and took them to the next stop, 22 miles. There were alot of pigeons on the road this morning, but lucky I think we get a clear window and they all came as a bunch after 38 mins. Took them to the couple of miles point and two'd them up again tonight, as it was too late to go the whole hog again. One bit of bad news is that Ronaldinho, part of the substitute team came in with a broken leg the other day. He's in th hospital box just now and we'll see how he comes on.

The event of the yb season, from Maidstone 245miles. As you will have gathered by now, I havent been home since Monday (19th Sept); so my number two took over for this race (me dad ). [Reason: Had to come up to Uni this week, and had to travel to Belgium over the weekend - so I've just learned the result (10pm Sunday)]. Birds Sent ----------- 05 06 08 14 16 18 21 22 23 Yes there was a mistake in basketing - 06 went in the place of 12 - Sorry about that. I'm told over the phone (dont have the full result to add to the site yet) that in first place came #22, quickly followed by #21, then a wee gap to #05. The birds came in an improved time than previous weeks, and all I can put this down to is the superior management (cheers dad ) - think I've lost me job now :). Will get the final result online, tomorrow night (as soon as I've got it) - this is the final race of the competition.

A tough race with this week, the birds were liberated at 8:00am in a north wind. First home was the Grizzle #16, followed by #21 and #22. Unfortunataly the hen that has been coming (#02) is missing tonight
-
10 birds have been basketed tonight for the race tomorrow from North Weald, I dont have an accurate distance, but its about 213 miles. Birds Sent ----------- 02 05 08 12 14 16 18 21 22 23 Bird #06 has been stopped now, as he is too far in the wing moult.
-
The birds are home,,, just didnt get a chance to put the result on yet! Liberated at 12:00 midday, from Huntingdon - 167miles. First home was, #02, followed by #16 and #22. Good news is that we're all home
-
Basketing postponed Friday, and Saturday, for Sunday with a Monday race (hopefully). 10 Birds away today ----------------------- 02 06 08 12 14 16 18 21 22 23 #05 - stays at home - between laying eggs.
-
Up at 13:50 in a South East; the first through the door was #23, followed by #06 and #22. I've updated the pages with the full result and report, etc. Note the Syndicate ratings were calculated differently this week.

Birds sent to Melton Mowbray 2nd Sept 05 ---------------------------------------------- 05 06 08 12 14 16 18 22 23 That should be nine. #02 and #21 have been left off this week as #02 is in egg, and #21 was due to lay her 2nd egg tonight. (Shame because I fancied 02 this week again ) As a matter of interest the cock that has been coming, #06 is the only one that the darkness didnt stop his wing moult, he's on his 6th flight, but had the usual darkness body moult, it hasnt stopped him has it! Seeya tomorrow, Loftmanager

Quite right Joe, the forecast now shows a misty start with some cloud cover, clearing for a brilliant day, with a south east wind.
-
The fifth race of the season is from Melton Mowbray, just over 135 miles to the loft. The long range weather forecast says a south west wind. Possibly rain about though.
-
Out of the four races we've had so far, hens 3, cocks 1. It all depends how your racing them, as to which sex takes to the system the best. Last year with old birds hens were the ones that always came for me, supose it was just the way I was racing them.
-
Well in the end they were liberated at Newark, which I've just found out is nearly 112 miles to me. They came well enough, as a team. #22, followed by #02 and #06 None of them were sitting this week, they should go down through this week to be sitting for the next few races. Thats the master plan I've updated the leaderboard, etc.. Loftman

The second visit to Mansfield (94 miles) this week, and looking at the forecasts we'll get a race with a tail wind tomorrow.

The birds have had 3 tosses from 20 miles this week. However I dont fancy them for a result, but saying that its ironic the first week I dont rate them and we score, the next two I fancy them, and we do nothing...lol Reading a topic on here the other day, I think its 40% pigeon - 40% fancier, 10% luck, and 10% sheer hope!!

Birds Sent
------------
02
05
06
08
12
14
16
18
21
22
23

That should be 11

Seeya tomorrow

I've put the results up. #23 came in first followed again by #06. We are the two grizzles #16, #17 missing tonight. Everythings on the competition pages. Will get the newsletter out tomorrow, completely shattered. Loftmanager

Birds sent 10 ----------------- #02 #05 #06 #12 #14 #16 #17 #18 #22 #23 Sticking to safety I fancy the same two who have come the first two races, #02 and #06; but #14 handled very well tonight.

The third race of the season is from Mansfield (Worksop). It is 94 miles to my loft.

Depending on which website you look at we may or may not get a race on Saturday. Its a North North West wind if we do.

Not allot of time to get them ready this week, last race being on Monday after the holdover, and then I was away Tuesday which was unavoidable. The birds were just loft exercised on Tuesday.

The birds were taken 2 miles on Wednesday night, and again this morning, being two'd and then singled up. Tonight saw a toss from 20 miles with a couple of the injured birds back in action. Once again 83 has nighted out (she did the same last week), shes missing tonight. The rest bar #21 made it in good time (beat me back).

Loftman

They were liberated at 9:05am after a 1 day holdover. I've updated the ratings and race details on the site. Afraid I'm away now until tomorrow, when I'll do the newsletter, and race report bits and pieces.

The race was put back 24 hours due to bad weather, so they had another 20 miler on Friday evening. Birds Basketed Today --------------------------- 02 - 1st home last week, 4th club, still sitting keen 05 06 - 2nd home last week, sitting about 9 days 13 14 16 - sitting about 9 days 17 18 - sitting about 9 days 21 - sitting about 7 days 22 - sitting about 9 days 23 - sitting about 9 days That should be 11 The forecast looks like a strongish north wind with the cloud breaking around dinnertime
-
Yes is was a bit rough wasnt it, #15 nighted out that night, but returned the next morning, I guess she didnt like the rain! Yesterday they went 20 miles again, and tonight, just missing the rain again.
-
Yesterday night (yesternight?? lol) anyway... I took them 20 miles, up in 2 groups the hens came slightly better than the cocks, but neither did a lightening time! This afternoon, just about dodging the rain they went 20 miles, they beat me home with the last 6 or so miles in rain,,, it didnt look like it was going to rain when I took them, honest!! lol
-
I'll put training in the week before the race in the topic of that weeks race. They were over at the beach this morning, couple of miles, two'd up
-
Positions 1st - 02 2nd - 06 3rd - 16 4th - 12 Missing, 11. Thats correct as today, 12 turned up at dinnertime

Moved from old board: Selby 61miles, a 10-12mph North-West wind forecast with sunshine and an odd shower about in the afternoon. Birds Sent ------------- 02 06 11 12 16 They're liberated at 10:20, in a brisk West-North-West. '02' came in first at 11:56 I've updated all of the leaderboards and race details in the competition pages. There shouldnt be any errors, as I've checked through, but its the first time I've used this coding, so if you have any queries, let me know
