The leaderboard at: http://www.pigeonbasics.com/competitions/race/2006/leaderboard.php?mode=slb is the final result. I'll be intouch with the prize winners soon.

Firstly sorry for not posting the result up here sooner :-/ Sent 10 for the 245 mile trip, which were liberated at 11:05am in a southerly wind. 1. Rooney 2. Torres 3. Fabregas 4. Zidane 5. Miller And indeed it was a funny ol race, the mist and mirk soon came in off the north sea not too long after the first birds were home, and we had only 5 on the day. Sunday Keane and Del Piero put in an appearence. Svensson, Kaka and Totti are AWOL. The final leaderboard is correct on the competition pages. I shall be intouch with the prize winners (young fanciers) soon

Hi, After seeing some of the great videos posted up on the forum. I decided to play with my phone see if I could get a few shots of the loft. Here's my first efforts:

Loft Manager replied to Loft Manager's topic in Fantasy Pigeons
They were liberated at 9:15am in a South Easterly wind. 1. Del Piero 2. Torres 3. Zidane 4. Fabregas 5. Figo Good news that we're all home, and better news Walcott has returned today from the Newark race nearly 3 weeks gone . Will get to work updating the birds and leaderboards just now. -

Thanks both of you I sent 11. Miller Kaka Fabregas Zidane Figo Totti Del Piero Rooney Torres Keane Svensson Huge thanks must go to my dad this week, as streight after the race last Sunday I had to go up to Scotland and only returned Thursday night. The birds were in great nick when basketing tonight, credit to him, thanks dad! (tear rolling down cheek ;D) -
Just about to go out for basketing for the race. I'll post up the entries later tonight. The weather looks good (for once!) with a steady South East wind. We race 167 miles from Huntingdon.

2006 - Race 6 - Melton Mowbray 2nd September
Loft Manager replied to Loft Manager's topic in Fantasy Pigeons
The last time I was in contact with back home we were still 1 short from the race, Podolski. The birds came in the following order: 1. Rooney 2. Torres 3. Del Piero 4. Fabregas 5. Robben The leaderboard and birds details have been updated on the competition pages. This is the last race for the natural team (subs) birds, their too far in the moult now. All of the birds that remain in the loft have had a race; the late starters (various reasons) Totti, this was her first race - home. Fabregas this was her second - 4th home. And Ronaldinho who has had the last 2 races. Svensson seems to have made a good recovery from the wing problem encountered a couple of weeks back, depending on how it goes he might see the race basket again this season, but if he's not right, he doesnt go. -
2006 - Race 6 - Melton Mowbray 2nd September

The birds have been liberated at 9:40am in a strong South Westerly. Sent 13. -
Hi, Just to let you know basketing has been put back 24 hours for this weeks race. My thoughts at the moment are that most of the naturals (sub team) will stay at home - finished for the season now, too far in the body moult - with only the couple which havent raced as much are going to go. The 1st teamers are looking fine, just starting to see their 1st flights on the floor, so most of these will go.
-
The were heldover until the Sunday, liberated at 9:15am in a 10/15mph South West wind. Much the same as last week surprisingly enough - first three through the door in the same order. 1. Boyd 2. Podolski 3. Figo 4. Keane 5. Miller The competition pages and the leaderboard have now been updated (sorry for the delay).
-
The race programme has been put back one week: August 26th - Newark - 111 miles September 2nd - Melton Mowbray - 135 miles 9th - Huntingdon - 167 miles 16th - North Weald - 210 miles (approx) 23th - Maidstone - 245 miles 30th - Bubwith - 61 miles

After a little deliberation I sent 10 to this weeks Newark race. A couple have been sent back, and there are a couple of first timers on. Miller Kaka Fabregas Zidane Boyd Figo Podolski Torres Keane Ronaldinho Its worth noting that the UNC have decided to move the race programme back one week, i.e we should have been going to Melton Mowbray this week, which will now be next week. Doesnt help me much as I'm due to be back in Scotland before the end of the programme now, but we'll cross those bridges when they come. No word of a liberation from Newark today yet.
-
14 birds were basketed on Saturday for the Newark race. The birds were then heldover until Tuesday 22nd August for the race. Order they came 1. Boyd 2. Podolski 3. Figo 4. Kaka 5. Robben Currently there are 12 of the 14 home. Walcott and Lampard missing.
-
Thanks Svensson is flying again now; but we'll see how she comes on before sending her in again, its a nasty knock which could take a while to heal properly. I've been away most of this week, so the birds have been left in the capable hands of my father; their not going too bad, heard that the UNC Newark race basketing is going to be postponed 24 hrs and a review tomorrow; so a little more time to get them right if we're destined to have a race this week.

This week the birds have been 2'd up from 8-10 miles a few times, Thursday night they hit a heavy rain shower, but all came through fine. Wednesday night Svensson came in from exercise with a bumped wing; weather or not its broken I dont know, I've put her (cheq hen) in the hospital box and will see how she picks up. Wouldnt it be the way, 1st home Saturday and shaping up again to get injured around the loft :-/ Ronaldinho is back in traning after his broken leg a few weeks ago. He's completed the 2 ups with no problems; see how he shapes up next week to go to the race. Other birds not been sent to a race are; Cahill and Totti. Cahill took a scrape before the first race and has been coming back into form and is a candidate for next week. Totti spent a night out just before the second race (had a fright around the loft) and thus didnt go; would have been a candidate for this week, but decided not to send with the forecast - should go next week all being well.
-
I sent 17 triers to the Mansfield (Worksop) race, but they've been brought home today. Academic really! Roll on next week!
-
20 birds were sent to the second race from Selby 61 miles. Pigeons not going are: - Cahill - had a bump. - Totti - spent a night out during the week. - Ronaldinho - broken leg, but is now back on the road. The birds were liberated at 11:00am in a very light south wind. 1. Svensson 2. Gillespie 3. Torres 4. Keane 5. Henry 6. Lampard 7. Boyd 8. Figo 9. Bellemy 10. Podolski 11. Robben 12. Del Piero 13. Rooney 14. Klose 15. Zidane 16. Walcott 17. Miller 18. Kaka Missing at present time: Crespo, Bosacki. The birds came well as by the velocities (competiton/race page) you can see. With a fair few its who got through the door first got the position. Will update the bird ranking and team rankings just now.
-
Robben was home when I went round to feed up. I've updated with the results; teams are now in order.
-
10 birds were sent to selby, 61miles. Liberated at 10:50 this is how they came: 1. Boyd 2. Rooney 3. Torres 4. Keane 5. Del Piero 6. Svensson 7. Podolski 8. Miller 9. Kaka and Robben is still to come. I'll post more details up when I update the ratings (give me a few mins) at http://www.pigeonbasics.com/competitions/race/2006/race.php
-
Boyd - not the right one, hint he's just signed for Luton :( Miller - played for wolves now plays for...
-
The birds had a bad doo on Monday, let them out for exercise and only 6 left when it was time to call them in. Came back in 1's and 2's until the next morning, but frightened around the loft. So training was suspended a couple of days while they got their confidence back and we 2'd them up on Wednesday. They had 2 tosses from 20 miles Thursday and Friday morning from which the hens came well, just over 20mins, but the cocks were rubbish taking double the time for some reason. Only going to send half a team this week with the setbacks will see how they come.

Can anyone get the full name and country or/and club (footballers) of all of the 'players' in the Fantasy Pigeons competition? Here's a list of the names: Bellemy Bosacki Boyd Cahill Crespo Deco Del Piero Fabregas Figo Frankowski Gillespie Henry Kaka Keane Klose Lampard Miller Podolski Robben Ronaldinho Rooney Svensson Torres Totti Van Bommel Walcott Zidane Clue: They're not all in the world cup

Today it was cloudy and hazy, so there were just loft exercised this morning. Cloud broke a little tonight and they all went to 22 miles again, took just longer than 30 mins, although one of the Blue Pied Soontjens is missing, will find out which one if he ain't their in the morning. Last few days Zidane has been a bleedin nuisance for trapping, or should I say not trapping! Missing dinner last night seems to have sorted her out, as she was first in this morning and tonight :)
