Excellent! We'll try to keep all the classy birds together!
-
See? That's what happens when girl power arrives in the shape of the Scottish Ladies of Racing.
-
Homer49 - I have that on my list as Lot 8, as follows: LOT 8 SU11L 4801 Blue Wt. Flt. Cock Purchased from A. Blyth (Carluke) Lot 9 is the Louella bird, have I uploaded the wrong list? Brilliant - we have girl power at last! Hope some of you will be there on Sunday so we don't look like spare parts.
-
Ah, but now we know to watch for tammy-wearers and ask each for the fiver back 'til the right one coughs up!
-
Aha! Think I managed to suss out who you are, at least, Gulkie! "Sue's Doos" won't be flying the federation flag for the King household, I'm afraid they all need to go. Just wish it hadn't been under these circumstaces. I'll try to put usernames to faces on Sunday and I'll keep in mind that Sammy might owe wee Billy a fiver from 1932... that's a long time, I suspect that fiver was originally borrowed from old Alex!

No wonder you're confined to a virtual life of male-dominated forums, and with a name like Yellow? I need back-up... where's the door to the 'Scottish ladies of racing' thread?
-
Nah, maybe I'd best stick with birds that are too lazy to fly and are happy to stay home and lay breakfast.
-
Unless I take up the doos... with the likes of the Eastbourne bird. He was fair proud of that wee achievement.
-
Oops, sorry! Maybe I'm thinking of Sammy the finch guy!
-
Updates to the list will be done in time for the sale. As far as I'm aware, someone has now been to ensure everything's sexed (as far as possible) and vaccinated up to date. Don't know your usernames on here but thank you to those concerned. Cheers for the update re B.H.W. ad, Andy.

Hoping somone is going to be able to take a look at them between now and then, without knowing who is who from Newmains on here, I don't know who is doing what, where or when. Sammy, are you same Sammy I know from school?
-
Thanks for that. So, other than the males displaying or hens laying, there aren't any obvious visual differences betwen the sexes? No cere differences like in budgies, feather shape differences like in poultry or pelvic differences like in quail etc? Hmm...
-
If you're any good at remote viewing, you could tell me which of the young birds are cocks and which are hens! How do you tell the difference? Can you tell for sure? (No silly 'she's a dumb female' answers, please! )
-
Great, thanks for letting me know - any chance whoever started this thread can copy the link into post one so it's easy to find? Edit - ok, managed to find the 'make it bigger' button for the text!
-
Not sure if this will work, but here goes... SALES LIST for Sunday 27th November can be found HERE Hoping that someone will be in to check out the unsexed ones before the weekend, so there could be more info available on the day.

Stewart, I haven't seen any of the paperwork, so I am assuming the 2011 Van Reets are homebred, as there's a couple of Van Reet hens ('08 and '10), which will also be at the sale. but I know he had homebreds. Is it OK for me to add a link to the list I have from this forum? or is that against T&C of the Pigeonbasics website? For whatever reason, there appears to have been no sales notification published in the SHW and no sales lists available for distribution.

On behalf of the King family, I'd like to extend my most sincere thanks to everyone on PigeonBasics for all your kind messages. We greatly appreciated seeing those of you who managed to attend the funeral. Dad loved his time spent on these forums, so it's not my first visit here to read them. It is, however, my first visit here without him. I am glad he was able to spend some time with you all in his final hours and know he'll never be forgotten. Thank you.
