    after reading on my AN INSPIRATION TO US ALL thread i have taken it on myself to contact the news papers below i have to honest i dont read news paper but heres your chance to help Carol AND PROMOTE THE HELP GIVEN BY OUR FANCIERS i have mailed this message to them all what im asking you all to do as pigeon fanciers click on the emails below and just send a message please carry the CAROL PARKINSON STORY

    just last week jack received a regestered envelope from a friend when he opened it there was 3 rings in it all of them i didnt know where they came from so i had to ring our friend who sent them

    some of the older fanciers may remember this one its Scottish Union Racing Post the RP was a pigeon magazine back in the 60's and if you had a ring on your bird with RP on the ring and it won a race you got a prize from the Racing Post of a few bags of feeding

    agian older fanciers may remember this one National Pigeon Service during the World War when pigeon were still being used to ferry messages the British pigeons were rung with NPS rings

    a 22K gold rings won in 1987 by a tippler fancier for his birds being up the longest

  5. An Inspiration To Us All

    last night I was the Newtownbreda HPS club rooms there was a charity sale in aid of a young Belfast woman Carol Parkinson Carol has an aggressive form of cancer and to give her a CHANCE at another year of life to spend with her 10 year old son the tablets Carol needs cost £500 per week and the NHS has refused to pay for this treatment so the pigeon fancy have rallied round hence the sale last night and there's NO president for this by the NHS as 2 other people are receiving this treatment and I tell you all comrades it really puts things in perspective some of us are maybe worried about Christmas do the kids have enough will you have enough money over Christmas will you be able to pay the credit card bill or the electric bill chairde (friends) it isn't worth the worrying about here's a young woman and all she's asking for is a CHANCE YES A CHANCE at another 1 year of life yes just ONE YEAR and last night there was no doom and gloom Carol is a really lovely woman to talk to all smiles and a lot of people would use the phrase " full of life " to look at the girl you wouldn't think there was anything wrong with her sitting talking to Carol her main worry on the night wasn't for herself but she asked me how can I get the addresses for all the fanciers who very kindly donated birds and if you look down the list of names I don't think there's a top fancier who didn't donate a real top class bird some donated a pair some more than that there was fancier from England's Up North Combine who donated also

    so on behalf of Carol and her family I have been asked to thank everyone of those who donated those who bought those who organised the event and those who helped out on the night there was fanciers there from ALL OVER BELFAST AND BEYOND WHO HELPED and some of our site members present also the ballot was for a free entry to the North Coast Classic donated by Sean Diamond and won by Mr Sean Halpin Carol also received a check on behalf of the INU from Mr Jimmy Hughes IHUN Sectary if you recognise anyone's name maybe they aren't site members please tell them of this thread and tell them Carol sends her thanks for the support as this was really very important for Carol

    I would ask you all to spare a though for Carol and those of you who pray again please remember Carol and her family also

  7. The Shamrock Two Bird Club Prize Giving

    tonight I was invited along to the Grosvenor HPS club rooms for

    THE SHAMROCK TWO BIRD CLUB PRIZE GIVING

    the man that runs it is someone we all know Brendan Clarke and it was nice to see all those present giving Brendan a round of applause for the hard work that he personally has put into these races the presentations were presented by Owen Monaghan from the Colin Club this years overall winner was A.A Ferran jes I have to say Tony's had a great season I can remember going to his lofts in July to take photos I think he had the first 4 in the fed very well done mo chara great flying and congrats to everyone who took prizes on the night

    YESTERDAY JACK AND NADINE WERE OUT AT THE FANTAILS I WAS LOOKING AFTER SAUL IN THE LIVING ROOM CHANGED HIS NAPPY AND WAS GOING TO THE WHEELY BIN AND THERE WAS JACK AND NADINE PULLING THE GREEN LEAVES OF THEIR NANNY'S LILLYS AND FEEDING IT TO THE BIRDS AND THEY WERE HORSING IT INTO THEMSELVES

    BUT HES A SITE MEMBER

    AND IF I REMEMBER RIGHT

    THIS FANCIER WAS THE OVER ALL WINNER IN THE DUBLIN SHOW

    I DID ASK FOR A PHOTO OF HIM WITH HIS WINNING BIRD

    BUT ALL THE PENS WERE TIED WITH CABLE TIES

    hi everyone sorry i havent been logged on in a long while but when i cant sleep i do read the threads things have been a bit mad here jack and myself have deside to take the next step into racing young birds next season so converting one loft and built a new stock loft and we are really looking forward to that

     

    were you at the show we were jack and myself headed to Dublin for Irelands largest show we had a great time jack was meeting friends getting money and birds gifted to him fanciers had gathered up their spare rings also but I think he really enjoyed the kisses from the lovely ladies Bernie Cochrane included GO RAIBH MAITH AGAT (Irish) THANK YOU to all those who gave jack rings money and the offer of young birds it was really very kind of you all so onto the show

     

    in the front doors and the show pen were straight in front of us jack straight over to 3 light coloured mealy pigeons he has a liking for those and pied birds and grizzles granda can we buy these ones that was the way my day went granda will you buy this one or that one no granda don't take a photo of that one take this photo the show itself I thought was as big as last year some new stalls that I have never seen before but ill come back to that there were plenty of bargains to be had fanciers were gearing up for breeding season I seen a lot of fanciers buying plastic nest bowls felt drinkers feeders corn you name it and there was plenty of birds on offer Bernie and Herman were there as was the well known father and son racing team from Gilford Jim and Desi Breen both stalls doing a great trade it was also nice to see water cups in the pens not that the 2 above sellers had birds in their pens that long but maybe organisers of these event should think about adding that to the agreement with stall owners selling birds there was some suppliers missing for i think the second year now Petron lofts weren't there personally I like their stall but mostly I liked getting into the loft they would put up maybe its down to internal politics at the show maybe the organisers are trying to promote local suppliers or maybe its down to organisers thinking that other suppliers are giving a better deal to fanciers but in the present economic climate I would think that all suppliers are having to look at their prices that said the Petron loft on show was either raffled or auctioned im not sure but the proceeds went to charity and some lucky fancier got a real bargain of a new loft for buttons walking about there seamed to be a lot of interest in one loft races Seamus from the North Coast Classic (won this year by our own John Hall Mr Harthog) the Emerald Classic was busy also and a man I first meet at the Ballyclare Fayre 2 weeks ago Paul from The Golden Egg One Loft Race stated to be the biggest prize money in the world was telling me that they have made changes to their entry I think it was you bought a stake in a bird but now you can enter your own bird now I'm not 100% on that as I was taking to a lot of people so you should contact them directly form the email on the photos or simply Google it one of the new stalls that caught my eye was a stall selling medicines was the chanelle group stall the couple on it were called Ciaran and Kelly the health of our birds be it racers show tipplers rollers or whatever is very important to us all I'm reading a book at the minute vets and pigeons or something like that so you all me after a few photos I introduced myself and started to ask question as I wanted to know WHAT THESE TWO PEOPLE ACTUALLY KNEW ABOUT RACING PIGEONS HEALTH take it from micko in a few years Ciaran and Kelly will become very well-known to our sport fairplay to both of you well that's a very quick round up of the show as they say a picture says a thousand words I'm attaching a few photos the rest are on our photobucket link please click on it and have a look it was also great to meet old friends and making some ones and hopefully we all learned something and to those who bought new birds best of luck with them

    from the first time I asked for spare rings for jack

    Lyndon every so often sends jack a LOAD of rings

    and another load arrived today
