  1. lets go from last years race programme first young bird race was July 19th and last young bird race was September 20th
  2. Your young bird races start much earlier than ours in UK , our yb programme starts in July for most of us , so I can understand the need for you to breed earlier for the darkness system so even at your system most are breeding too early in my opinion by two months. When do you put your breeders together to breed ????

  12. Good luck hope they arrive back safe don't want them peaking too early
  13. Many of us have our pen names or screen names some wish to be anonymous which is there right , I have no objection to using my real name which has never been a secret , but who's to say names that look real are actually there real name , all my club members know who I am on these sites and with a surname like mine pretty impossible to hide Go back and read the pigeon magazines loads of writers or scribes use a pen name even some authors use pen names. So in reality if we all changed to real names then who's to say the name you see is for real , Oldyellow was a pigeon I bred and raced so that's why I choose it as a pen / screen name , besides in 1972 Mark was the most popular name , so I think Oldyellow is better as I know it's me rather than another 10 people with same first name regards Mark Kettlestring

  20. ones a swab others a dropping pot , get an old clean jug and take samples from each perch / box then mix into a paste then fill up to line , throat swab needs two people one to open beak and hold bird whilst other puts swab down and rubs up and down whilst turning it then put into tube the soup will preserve it
  21. beyond me first eggs get frozen hatch rate drops , then you add to feed bill with earlier bred young birds , then you don't get weather to let them out , then when eventually get them out there too strong on wing and loose them . But each to there own When are you pairing the birds up ???
