  1. If the organisers are RPRA members they are responsible for the return of any lost birds at there expense or risk suspension! Carl also points out that the organisers will get more that £1000 to run the race, if 50% make it to the sale sold for an average of £40 the organiser will get another £960 and the treasurer gets £480 to look after the money. Think somebody needs to rethink the costs and rules! Phil
  2. theres no permenant damage there, just knocked a few feathers off.
  3. most likely has bruised it clipping some wires etc but as he is standing on it its not broken. Let him rest it for a couple of days and he'll be fine. Is there any sign of blood around the area incase he has impalled himself on an aerial? Phil

    Training

you should have them trapping well before you start training, taking old birds won't help them trap as the old birds will trap and leave the youngsters out! What you need is the birds to leave the basket, get home and in the loft asap! When you first start letting the birds out at home training starts then, controlling the food so that when you want them in they come straight in, once they get the habbit they will continue to trap well! 9. I would love to see a pic of a white bared mealy. I also wonder if the lack of coloured birds is also the result of people putting them straight in the stock loft and not giving them a chance thinking they must be something special! Phil
  10. I think the answer to that Dave is how many yellows and silvers do you see raced or in the result? There have been silver race winners mainly i beleive from the old workman lines but they are few and far between. Phil

  12. have a look at something like a sputnik that will allow the birds to have a look arround, enjoy some sun and if you want them to go in and out. This would fit in place of a window.
  13. glad he's home, i don't think you need to worry about getting a bigger room, from memory you have plenty of room in your new loft. Do they have a flight that they can go out into and enjoy the sun etc?
  14. thats what i thought Jimmy but not enough to worry about!
