  1. Thank you Wings04, Ive sent you a PM :)
  2. Hiya you guys, Can anyone tell me the reason why pigeons bred at the same time, in the same conditions, trained and raced the same way-moult at different times? for example:- why, the odd one or two take at least three wks to a month extra to complete their moult? I would welcome your opinions....
  3. You could try your local pottery or art school, they will make exactly what you require. :)
  4. And ... no open door?!
  5. Thanks Jimmy sounds great to me!! Mice proof loft? As if.... Must be no vents or open doors or sputniks then, therefore no fresh air!
  6. HEHE - TRUE!! I got a mad staffie - trouble is he loves pigeons!! ;D ;D
  7. Hiya Remember the more determined you are the easier the way!! Train hard, race technically, fly champions!!
  8. Ta Geordie - Have got one of them but ... I was in the loft last night I notice one of the little Hellers run in there and back out again!!
  9. Please have any of you to offer as a gift one pair of Delbars (to keep as stock). I wish them to be a Christmas pressie for my father. Please do not cull if they are in good condition I will glady get them on.
  10. Hiya, Any of you guys got a great way of getting rid of mice in the loft????
  11. Well... I have used it first time last season and it was terrific!! My best cock got attacked in tne garden by a peregrine (thought Id have to cull it- it was in a right mess with a whole chunk of flesh taken from its neck and narrowly missing its oil gland) but... with the help of CS and TLC it healled nicely and is still winning today! I also put it in the drinking water and have been free of the usually seasonal ailments. Very good stuff!!!! I use it myself when I have the start of a cold and it does the trick!!
  12. Very interesting! Does Gordon race pigeons? How has he done??
  13. Nope but I do use Lavender, mint and eucalyptus. Seems to work!
  14. Hiya, Anyone used colloidal silver for their birds??
  15. Very interesting- thanks you guys!! I dont stop em eating the soil-as the results prove, it aint doing em no harm. Maybe I should bag it up n sell it!! LOL I might just try goin to the shore and collect sum grit n stuff - see how they get on next season as im attempting the nationals with my young birds for the first time - I only keep a small loft 20 yb for club races and 20(this year) for the nationals.
  16. Hiya, Ive been racing with my dad(very successful fancier for 50years) for three years. I do the cleaning (twice a day) the training (young and old birds) and the feeding. My dad makes the main decissions (we do argue over this mind LOL - But hey all good partenerships do!!). The young birds are my main responsibility as my dad lives for old bird racing. The thing I have learnt most from my dad is that observation and truly watching your birds is most important as you can see when they are on and off form as well as if they are ailling for something. Anyways I could rabbit on for ever about my pigeons so I go now. Great Idea Samantha!!
  17. Hiya, Why during last season did my young birds and old birds crave and eat soil? Can anyone help? I forgot to add that they always had and have daily, a fresh supply of black minerals and grit I have heard that dogs that eat soil have an iron deficiency. Could this be true for pigeons? I had a very successful season winning 7 first club positions.
