ive had this before lot of years ago what i did was make a cut in the birds crop this is easiest way of clearing the crop it is easily stiched with needle and thread if a little water comes out through where you stitched it i will soon nit together as i think the pigeon is the quickest healing bird on the plannet. billy

the first thing to do is get the corn checked out for spores,i explaned this in an earlier thread,we had 19 die last year and this was put down to foisty corn,we fed stock birds and the racing end with the same corn stock loft is approx 12 yards away from the main racing loft, the young birds which were to the left of the races and new stock we bought in were to the right of the races never ailed nothing at all that is why we put it down to the corn.i wont mension the supplier but the corn was in plastic bags the corn must have sweated plus didnt think about looking at the sell by date,a council worker said she would take our case up after she took a sample but came back next said she could not do anything as pigeons are classed as wild birds.we pigeon men can never win. billy

i think it is still the wrong time of the year to be training late breds i wonder how many guys on this sight has trained latebreds this time of the year it might look alright but it is still cold, how many people even race them on the first race, some people might disagree, but if people tell the truth i bet there is a hell of alot go down, its better when the weather is warmer,i dont mind sending latebreds for the first races up to 150miles as long as its the right conditions. bill

yearlings are a right headache, cocks are the worst they want to take over as many partens as the can,the only time they settle down is when the hen lays they are no bother after that, let them out one pair at a time thats the only way to deal with the situation. billy

I THINK THE EASIEST WAY IS PUT HER IN A BASKET FACING YOUR LOFT FOR A FEW WEEKS NEVER FAILED DOING THIS,ITS BEEN A PRISONER SINCE LAST JULY WERE GOING TO KEEP HER FOR STOCK,THEN DECIDED TO TRY AND SETTLE HER 3 WEEKS IN A BASKET THEN PAIRED HER UP WHEN SHE MATED WITH THE COCK WE LET THEM OUT YESTURDAY AFTER THE COCKS WHENT ON THE NEST,SHE WHENT STRAIT UP WITH THE OTHERS WHEN THE OTHERS DROPPED SHE WAS MISSING THEN TEN MINUTES LATER IN SHE CAME.IVE DONE THAT FOR DONKEYS YEARS NEVER FAILED.
