HI IS THERE ANY MEMBERS COULD HELP OUR CLUB THE HEAD QUATERS GRANGETOWN H S IS FALLING DOWN AND WE NEED A NEW ONE THE IDEA IS IF WE HAVE A NEW UP TO DATE HEADQUATERS WE COULD ASK LOCAL SCHOOLS TO COME DOWN ON A FRIDAY TO SEE THE BIRDS SENT TO THE RACES AND ALSO HOLD SHOWS IN THE WINTER TO TRY AND GET THE LOCAL YOUTH IN VOLVED HOPE- FULLY IT WILL GET NEW MEMBERS AND PUT THE SPORT IN GOOD LIGHT BUT THE CLUB HOUSE AT THE MOMENT IS NOT SAFE AND WOULD BE EMBARRASING THE ASK LOCAL SCHOOLS TO BE INVOLVED I THINK THIS IS THE ONLY WAY OF SAVING OUR SPORT GETTING THE YOUNG IN VOLVED IF YOU COULD DONATE A YB OR LATEBRED OR EVEN WELL BRED SPARE OLD BIRDS ALL WILL HELP PLEASE PM ME THANKS IAN

    all my yearlings are treat the same with care and training and feeding the ones i have left at the end of the season will be my best and at two year olds will see 550mle plus i only have a small set up so not places to carry birds for 3 years hopping that they will fly longer distance to be disapointed

    i agree frank if you want to compete at the distance your yearlings must fly 450mles and be in the club postion or round about

    it might be chris they are out of there comfort zone its a different type of bird to fly with the N F C we have fanciers who fly well with the up north combine coridoor flying as they put it but there birds would struggle to fly 150/200mles on there own as they are used to flying along one way not pulled all over the counry

    if the scottish lads were up for it and our northeast greater distance club go for it we could get a marking station in the north i am putting it forward this year at our agm that we fly it as a club we have indidvals you fly with the N F C but if we join as a club we have 40 members just a thought lads

    some times frank when you know you have good birds you have to put them up against the best and its a great chance for the scottish lads to show there birds have it

  24. i had these pigeons in the 80s when they came the condition of the ybs was bad i phoned him and told him and all he said was sorry but no one else as complained and they were rubbish his birds have not been tested in the basket for years so self selection is nil
  25. hi mate if you are sending birds with biss blood in them they will fly it no problem you just need the prep right which comes different to each bird treat each one as a individal good luck
