  2. Hi guys ,I would like some advice on what system to use ,I work 6am till 2pm one week and the next week i work 2pm till 10pm. I can get the birds fed twice a day no problem , but can only exercise them once a day ,so do i go on the natural system and give them an open loft and supplement there exercise with training chucks ,or do i go on the widowhood and only exercise once a day , I have 8 cocks and 8 hens to race .thank you
  3. sorry guys I meant exersising the birds will one hour a day in the morning when im on lates and, an hour in the afternoon when im on earlys ,will an hour a day keep them fit enough and does it matter its at different times ?

  5. Hi guys i will be racing old birds for the first time this year ,I have 12 widowhood cocks to race but work shifts 2 til 10 and 6 till 2, i was wonderring if any other members work similar shift patterns and how they do they train their birds .
  6. HI guys I was using sand but found the damp patches ,I have now changed over to hempcore and now the loft is bone dry it also smells nice , and the birds seem to love it picking through it ,retails at £8.60 a bale in these parts

  9. yes the mesh keeeps all the spadgers out as they were taking more food than the chucks were
  10. Hi people ,I keep 4 chickhens in a coverd run in my yard,Im just wondering if they are ok to keep in the same area as pigeons ,does anyone have any experience of keeping the two types of bird in the same garden ,thanks IAN

Hi folks Ian from stourpot in worcestershire here,just starting up in middle age cos me mum wouldnt let me keep pigeons at home when i was a nipper,really enjoy the site,pick up loads of tips and hints ,just bought 2 pairs of pigeons and lost 3 of them already cos i left the loft door open (dozy *expletive removed*)so its a restart and hopefully do some young bird racing later on in the year
