  4. Cheers for that, i will try them out, but am keen to know exactly what they are. I'll try and find out, but yes they could be okay for some of the releases couldnt they? Thanks for the advice. ;D
  5. 50 miles?
  6. If they are then, that means i can't use them for dove release doesn't it? :-/
  7. Cheers Dovescot, at least i can rule modena's out then. Possible could be part roller, seems i have some detective work to do, thanks!
  8. Okay here is some piccy's can someone tell me what the first one is (newstock pic), the second pic is one of the Logans, the third is both, the logan being the big ones! ;D
  9. Hi, i have a feeling that the last 6 white hens i have been given are Modena's. I will take a photo and post on this site at the weekend. I have logans, but these are smaller, with smaller heads and eyes and beaks. My question is are Modena's able to fly about 50 mile's, do they have the homing instinct of racing pigeons. Oh and finally what would happen if a logan and a modena mated?????? (yes i know there would be eggs) but would the resulting bird be any use for dove release???? :
  10. Oh poor thing, is it okay other than the gash?
  11. Oh you are so cruel!!!!!!!!! ;D
  12. Get some macro lenses. Go to ebay put in this item number - they are for your 400D. item number 230190139821 . These should be fine for what you need them for. Let me ask my brother who is a professional photographer about the photo programme, we used to use adobe, but if i remember right he has a better one, i'll come back to you.
  13. My dream a loft full of whites. ;D

    BAD NEWS TODAY

Bewted, this is my first show as well, really been looking forward to it, though for me it is only 35 miles. I will find out what the state of play is on Friday, ask if the birds are excluded but the show is carrying on and let you know then. Keep your fingers crossed :-/
  16. Just had a look and yes seems a good camera, personally i prefer Nikon but that is a personal preference. My advice would be to go to Jessops or a specialist camera shop and try one out, hold it - they do feel different, some are quite heavy some are light, but it comes down to personal preference. Then when you've made your mind up order off the net, you will get your camera so much cheaper than on the high street. What ever you decide to buy, check out before hand how easy it is to get lenses etc first.

  21. Get yourself a digital slr camera - most of these have macro on them which will enable you to take very very good close ups. If you want to keep it to the cheaper end you are looking at something like the Nikon D50
  22. Brilliant, I hope that happens to me one day.
  23. Geordie i was talking about the birds! LOL ;D
  24. Can you set these to come on at a certain distance - you know like have a permimeter that sets the boundary?
  25. Thanks Sam, i am impatient but am really enjoying spending time with them, think i've fallen in love with them to be honest, they are beautiful
