the best time to go around is after 2 on a sunday expecially if your looking for birds as you get the chance to haggle people down even further than usual as they wont want to take them home thats my theory anyway and it seems to work

I saw the same stupid adverts my first thought was has Les Parkinson not realised how close to christmas it is, people are paying for fancy pedigree saying they have direct gabys in there loft. Any GOOD ETS Supplier will supply everything the club needs for free. In response to Roland i just dont see how big a difference it makes to anything as i for one would never leave the birds to clock thereselves in, all it gives me the opportunity to do is relax with a beer in my hand whilst the bird traps instead of flapping about the garden demented. My reason for saying about people is half our club was going to pack in when it came through, so anyway it came through and one member packed in and not due to the ETS like he wants everyone to beleive.

I have not used the ETS yet but spent a lot of time looking at all the systems and will be introducing mine shortly it is ordered just waiting for my agent to get back off holiday. I am 100 for the ETS coming into the sport here, why should we sit back behind the continentals just because tom and Dick think its unfair....for F**ks sake its not the ETS that will be doing the winning its the fancier and the birds. I dont doubt the ETS offers slight advantages on some aspects (eg not scaring young birds whilst clocking)but bloody hell if you want it get it if you dont simple dont bother but dont make threats about leaving the sport if it comes in as lets face very few will leave the sport due to its introduction and most of those that do pack in blaming it i feel are just using the ETS as an excuse to call it a day.

im not a fan of unikon as i have already stated but Pigeon dont worry about it if you really want unikon they are only about £259 brand new, fair enough you dont get the rings but you do get the satisfaction of knowing if you have any problems with it where you can take it back too.

i agree craig but try even giving away a crossed pigeon I have always been told - cross them to race and keep them pure to sell Although what is a pure pigeon these days a lot of the families go back to the same pigeons the Peter Van der merwes for example when i look back around four generations on my pedigrees on some fo my birds they contain the same birds as the merwe pigeons.

could not agree more about the north east and indeed scotland, both contain some of the best fanciers in the world and i include Belgium and Dutch in that comment

i agree i would introduce the cross in the second year of breeding you could very well be wasting your money on the second family before testing the van der weyer on there own
