  1. Is that not very late for breeding
  2. You never said anything about bringing in new birds in your origanal post. But even with new birds theres no need to jump in with antibiotics a few weeks of isolation will give you an idea of there health. If there ok put them in why treat them for everything if there healthy you could be doing more damage than good. As for treat after every race I think your sure to wreck the immune systems. Humans are only advised to take one course antibiotics a year so put it in comparision. :-/
  3. I dont understand this because treating for canker thats not there wont prevent anything the medicine will just run true them. I think the best prevention is plenty of clean water, vitamins, dry airy loft etc. And the vets will always advise on treating them often because there running a business and the more products you buy the more money they make.
  4. At the Irish Young Bird Show this weekend gone I got Best WEFT which went on to get Best in Show. I entered 7 Weft's and a young king which took the Any Other Variety class. A great show show for me :) Getting the award The bird at home. A dun ch hen.
  5. I am experiencing the same but have been told its natural, The birds look and fell fine, clear throats and in good general health. I wonder if its the time of year? Im not going to jump in and threat them for everything under the sun as I believe this just does more damage by breaking down their immune system but I am still worried as what it is.
  6. Thanks Steph, yeh bred a young blue hen which got 2 best in shows this year. :)
  7. There is a video of a mookie in my website. They are also known as shakers and you can see why from the video. Its the second video down. http://pic7.piczo.com/WicklowLofts/?g=26835398&cr=7
  8. Look like rollers or in some cases people cross tipplers to their racers instead of spending the money on logans??
  9. Heres a magpie http://www.winckley.co.uk/images/07/09/SEPT83DS.jpg
  10. That looks really professional dovescot, well done!!
  11. How often do you pen train with them Steph. A good thing about keeping flying breeds is 99% of the judgeing is done in the hand
  12. Your avatar is brilliant!! :D
  13. Rollers and anything that is known to fly comes under best flyer
  14. very childish
  15. You've confused best flyer which a west picked up. Best flyer is for the flying breeds which include show racers tumblers etc, its not that theres two types.
  16. Good point beautyhomer, funny the way people go very quiet all of a sudden when they are wrong.
  17. Very true beautyhomer.
  18. Thats because when they see others progressing they get worried
  19. Theres a lad who shows them at plymouth dovescot. Contact the plymouth fancy pigeon club for the details. The website is http://plymouthfancypigeonclub.com/
  20. I agree and is what i said earlier, performing and exhibition tipplers and rollers ARE a different breed.
  21. And you still haven't backed up that ive said one thing and meant another
  22. Is a genuine homer or a show racer a racing pigeon in your opinion?
  23. An exhibition birmingham roller is the proper name obviously. And could you point out where ive said something and meant another.
  24. You haven't said anything in the first paragraph that i haven't said. But then you compare rollers and tipplers to wests in terms of them being the same breed, there not, an exhibition tippler and flying tippler like ex rollers and flying rollers have two different standards, one for the flying and one for the exhibition so how can they be the one breed. And where does ireland or anyones country come into this discussion.
  25. Nice king steph
