going light or young bird sickness are old terms for a disease called circovirus. loose droppings , not eating .rapid weight loss and in 10% of the cases ..death. it is the same as human aids , its not the circovirus the kills the bird but it lowers the immunity system and the secondary viruses such as ecoli and sam that cause the problem . check it out on the net it will give give you more information on it . ps there is no cure the birds either get over it or die

tough race today for anyone who sent . my youngbirds are in bits so couldnt send . ronnie willianson seems to have them pileing in again . some fancier ! prob the best in ireland and maybe britain as well !

bobby is a man in his early 80's and does not fly as much now as he used too . but his record in the 50's,60's70's,80's and early 90's is second to none in the british isles . also his birds have done well for alot of other fanciers . C & L woodside would be an example of someone flying well with smyths birds .

my first dropped in at 12.50 lib at 10.45 ..124mls i dont bother clocking in these early races 20 back out of 34 so far . last bird at 7pm. i cant see any excuses for liberating today . fair enough it might of been a fast race for the leaders but any birds caught out have little or no chance of making it home in that weather. the nipa are a disgrace

even if we were on our own (which i dont understand why) there should never of been a liberation today

its an absolutely shocking day ,,,i just cant understand what made them let the birds up.

what are the nipa playing at . there were muliple hold overs in the old bird season when there was no real reason for it and now on the the first mass lib of the young bird season they let them up when you cant see your finger in front of you and the rain is coming down sideways..were is the sense in it!!!!!!!!!

2 good experienced birds . in with a good shout as they know their way home from the channel

cork might be flying a bit more than 300mls because they are further west than us . it would be nice to hear a few birds getting into the north to give us a bit of hope of clocking tonight as its a great evening for them to come on if they are good enough .

i have just the one away , flying 502 into derry . think there is over a hundred away out of the city .
