some people may say they must be raced as ybs to be any good as yearlings some say it dont matter. if you train them well they should be fine, i raced some yearlings this year that didnt see a basket last year and they raced fine as yearlings, johnyboy

he will be fine. i had two go down the chimny last year and were down there for a day or two before i got them out, they turned out ok and raced as yearlings this year. john

when i had my letter from the councle saying that someone had complained about my birds, i emailed the manager of the rpra, i gave them my adress and phone number, and asked for some advise about what i could do about this. but i did not receive any advise from them what so ever its a good job that i got it sorted myself. i thought the rpra was there to help us at times when we are haveing probs,well thanks rpra i know where to call next time. I DONT THINK SO. JOHN

we sorted it with the councle they checked the records and see that i had permision from them when i first got my birds. so they said they not takeing it any further and no need to wory, i invited them round so they could see that i let my birds out and i get them in as soon as they see the corn tin. and that my birds are clean and that i atend to them evey day, they came out this morning on my invite and was well impressed with what i do with them and said there no probs here they seen a lot worse,we have had lots of probs with this guy who complained and the councle as realised this to and said that they going to note that he is be malishes to us and will be aware of him in the furture, it turned out well in my favour in the end they stoped for a coffie and we had a good chat about the birds. one of them use to keep pigeons himself years ago lol. well all ok thank god get back to the biss now with training the ybs. john

do any one now the rules about keeping pigeons in your back garden i have a big garden and my lofts take up less then half of it. nad the lofts are no higher then the councle outer buildings that are already there, i got a letter today saying that someone has complained about my birds and they are comeing round on tuesday to have a look. im real p.ssed of coz i know what the councle are like they will make me get rid just because someone complained.

thanks dougie for your help with finding the owner of a stray pigeon that came in my loft. its a shame that more fanciers on this forum are not as helpfull as you thanks mate

central york fed harry how you find out what time the birds were libed i been phoning the lib line since 10 am and its now 11 56 am and the lines have still not been updated.

get a alotment and keep the chickens on there

i got a couple of lads into it they turned a old shed into a loft and got some birds but by the end of the first season they were gone again they dont want to know these days or they get fed up easyer these days.

we not be all doom and gloom scoty we just looking at the facts and haveing a chat about it. thats what this forum is all about. chill man.

will there be pigeon racing when we are not around any more i ask myself, when we ever try and get the youngsters interested in pigeons these days they dont want to know,and the odd one that takes interest the mums and dads put a stop to it, so i ask myself will the sport of racing pigeons be a thing of the past in 50 years time.well if the youngsters of today dont take up the sport like we the youngsters of yesturday did then yes the sport will come to a end in time to come.i blame what im sitting here doing now playing around on a pc or play stations and game boys and stuff like that its stopping the youngsters of today takeing interest in the outdoors i seen it with my own kids they would rather sit in and play on all the electronic crap. god help us lol. john boy
