how do you clip a birds wings i am getting a pair of doves for my wife she wants to put them in with the young birds but i dont want them to fly away so i am going to clip there wings but how exactley do you do this??

hi all i need some help my friend has got a problem with his young birds he has noticed that there are 1 or 2 that are looking a little hunched up and have dark green wet droppings and are losing weight he has never had this problem as he has only been in the sport for 2 years and i have told him to disenfect his loft and drinkers remove the birds that are affected but due to me not being in the sport all that long i dont really know what it is they have appart from the droppings and weight loss the seem to be in good health they are eating well cany you please help cheers :-/ :-/ p.s. can you tell me what is trichomoniasis and hexamitiasis he asked me this and i did not know

i would leave the training for a few more weeks let them range a little more round the loft but if you think they are ready then you can start training as long as they have been ranging for a few weeks

see a local fancier and he should put you right on how to join a club or the secatary number what area are you from mate

do you think he should dispose of the bird then and if he leaves it in loft will it contaminate all the other young birds? i think it is still in his loft at the moment

you could try mint leaves in water and honey this is quite good for them or breath ezz from body and ridewood

you can get eye drops from body and ridewood or one eye cold tablets

they look well mate

not a bad result then at least you got them coming well together and the times will improve as racing goes on

i train my widowhood birds twice a week i dont think they need any more than that because they should fly the sky down round the loft if they are in peak condition

hi all a friend of mine has found that his young birds have canker he has one that has gone quite thin and has yellow in it's mouth and wants to know the most effective way to treat this and what to use cheers

nobody in my family had ever kept pigeons before so there was a lot for me to learn and now my wife loves them and my mum and dad look forward to siting with me on race days to watch the birds home

i keep mine training up untill thursday then rest all day friday untill marking i dont let them out on fridays but if it was a long distance race over (250 miles)train till wednesday and let them out round the loft on thursday

when you inject your birds is there a certain way or place to inject them i know it is in the back of the neck but is there a certain way to do it my friend says if you inject them in the wrong place you will paralise the bird please advise thanks
