🦅 A Terrible Year for West Midlands Peregrines

We currently monitor six Peregrine Falcon nests across the West Midlands, and unfortunately 2026 has been one of the poorest breeding seasons we’ve recorded.

Breeding was significantly delayed this year, and most of our monitored nests have now failed. This is the first time since 2012 that we’ve seen such widespread breeding failure across our sites.

Reports from other areas also suggest lower brood numbers than usual, indicating this may be part of a wider trend.

While it’s been a deeply disappointing season, we’ll continue monitoring and gathering data to better understand what has happened.

🤞 Fingers crossed our Peregrines can recover and return stronger in 2027FB_IMG_1781975474586.jpg
