i wouldnt change the hen but you can always put a rank hen in thats not been paired normaly a favourate hen thats paired to you tend to show more for the cocks , some use fantails / tumblers to show to cocks i havent done thel ater i just swap hens around if need be

i must admit i bomb mine mainly to keep flying insects away moths and flys , but it's not effective enough on lice

i like them to rear they seem to fly better than those that havent reared

i wonder if its bird friendly :-/

best to use twice a year i do them in summer when lice mites and tics start emerging , then when they start moulting to get rid of moths

it can take some time to clear out as the smoke builds up as the smoke bomb burns away , i think the main things is watching the air flow smoke escapes to see if any improvements can be made , when i last did my loft neighbours thought it was on fire lol , once theres no visable smoke leaving the loft re enter , there should be no smoke in the loft , just a nice smell i put my smoke bomb on top of an old cooker grill tray so no damage can be done
