Buff Posted August 18, 2018 Report Posted August 18, 2018 Happy Birthday Davy a total legend of The Forth ðŸŽðŸŽ‰ðŸ¥‚
George IV Posted August 20, 2018 Report Posted August 20, 2018 Davy Thomson would like to thank everybody for their kind comments and birthday greetings. With Davy not being on the forum I copied the messages and gave them to him. He tells me that, although golf was his sport, he dabbled in pigeons with his brother Robert. It wasn't until after he got married that the first loft went up in the back garden, that was nearly 70 years ago and after one house move the lofts are still there yet. His son Ian taking all the glory now, although Davy still gives advice when needed. Forth Club was always a hard club to win but distance racing was the name of the game, flying against, amongst others, John McGillivray, brother Robert and his nephews Bert, Willie and George to name but a few, Ian's latest success was SNFC Falaise 2017 2nd E 3W 20 Open. So they are still trying hard. Its a pleasure sitting listening to Davy reminiscing about the old days, different stories every day. Although he watches the pigeons from the window now he goes to carpet bowls every week where he still picks up prizes!
