Red Chq Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 Bird was picking on road outside my house last night, tried and failed to catch it and hit by car today.
Yrrab Posted June 5, 2018 Report Posted June 5, 2018 This was one of my missing two from 15 sent to SNFC Buckingham race at weekend. Many thanks for taking the time to advise about the B.Bar cock a previous prize winner.RgdsBarry Kinnear.
Red Chq Posted June 5, 2018 Author Report Posted June 5, 2018 BarryI'm in Ireland, a place called Dunsany, Co Meath, about 15 miles NNW of Dublin. The bird (as you say a B.Bar cock) was very tame, my wife had spotted it on the road (we live on a narrow country road) and I almost walked it into a crate at about 7pm last night having used some food but it slipped by me when I tried to close it in and went onto my neighbours roof. It was gone from there half an hour later and I didn't see him again. When I got home from work tonight my wife told me the neighbour had told her that one of my birds was dead on the road and I went out and found it. He still had his ETS ring on and there was an old rubber over the life ring.Sorry I didn't manage to catch him last night for you. What part of Scotland do you live in, the east in the wind must have carried him over.Yours in sportDes MurrayBoyne Valley RPC
Red Chq Posted June 5, 2018 Author Report Posted June 5, 2018 Forgot to say that when he flew up to the house roof next door last night that he only had half his tail so he obviously had a close call with a peregrine before ending up here.
